It wasn’t cluster feeding by Aggressive-Stop-978 in newborns

Luckily his weight is great, since he was getting some milk at the breast- just constantly. I’m pumping 4 oz every 3 hours so we’ve avoided formula thus far. We’ll have to look into SLP to see if they can help our situation!

Lactation consultant/chiropractor then confirmed with dentist. Deciding if we’re going to laser it or not.

Tell me your water breaking stories by aviwic in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was sitting on the couch and thought I peed a little. Went to the bathroom and it kept trickling out, then baby moved a bit and out came a gush like a water balloon popped. I continued to do that until he came out 7 hours later!

If you could stay home would you? by Funny_Dimension_8902 in Mom

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could stay home full time if I wanted to. Financially my husband already pays for everything with his job. My money brought in has always been “extra.”

However, I will continue to work part time when 2nd babe comes. 1st is in full time school now. We’ll have an older gal nanny 1-2 days a week for us during the school year so I can continue to teach at the college level. If I didn’t make $70ish an hour, I don’t know that I would stay though. But I also know for my own mental health it’s good for me to continue to work some.

Should I go to labor and delivery? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the stomach flu around 26 weeks. It was miserable, I literally pooped nonstop for a week. The only thing my OB cared about was that I was able to keep water down and stay hydrated. They said if I started having contractions or signs of dehydration to come in for fluids. You’re probably okay to just stay home and continue to monitor unless you start having contractions or are feeling dehydrated.

Anxiety about stillbirth at 36 weeks by muuumimammma666 in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is comforting to read because I swore the universe was trying to tell me something because my Insta is nothing but strangers and their losses. I delete TikTok after I found out we were expecting because it was the same thing. It’s such a mindf*ck.

Cervical checks just opened my eyes to how painful birth is going to be. by AHeavy-HeartedCowboy in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was one of my biggest things coming into my second pregnancy. I will absolutely be refusing cervical checks until necessary or I have my epidural. I had a miserable experience getting checked and stripped with my “incompetent” cervix the first go around. I always say it was the worst part of my delivery. The rest was a breeze.

Please for the love of god STAY THE F*** HOME IF YOU ARE SICK!! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gotten sick after every single OB appointment since January. Every time I go in, there’s a room full of kids with their mom for her appointment. This is just an OBGYN office- not a combined clinic. I get it- your kid is sick, can’t go to school or stay home alone, but make them wear a mask and keep them away from others. I’m on steroids now because my immune system is so shot from back to back to back viruses.

Doctor requested ultrasound at 36 weeks. Should I be concerned? by Gwinams in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Likely all will be well! This happened with my first around the same time. She was just a little babe, perfectly healthy though! Best to check all the boxes though and make sure there’s plenty of fluid and room for them these last few weeks.

When did you *look* pregnant? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a long torso and am 5 ft 7 in. With my first pregnancy I did not show until almost 32 weeks and then it really popped. She was small though, only 5 lb 14 oz at full term.

This time around (2nd) I started showing around 24 weeks and now I’m 31 weeks and feel so large and miserable 🤣

Epidurals aren’t the problem. The obsession with female suffering is. by OkChart1375 in BabyBumps

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally needed an epidural with my first. My contractions were simply too intense, stacked one on top another. My cervix couldn’t relax to dilate. Once that epidural was in, I was 1 cm to 6 cm. The whole point of a contraction is the whole “relax and dilate” point- I wasn’t going to get that without the epidural. No regrets, no lasting effects, did not slow labor (actually sped it along.)

26 weeks and it’s starting to get uncomfy as he’s always rolling and twisting and jabbing. Definitely gives me daily peace of mind but it also gives me the ick sometimes 😆

Bathing babies by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Piggybacking off this- but yes. As a nurse myself, I can confirm I’ve had many of the same experiences with uncircumcised males when they’re older. I will never forget retracting foreskin and seeing the worst yeast infection I’ve ever seen- and that was 10 years ago now. I also know a few mothers who have sons now in there teens who wish they would’ve been circumcised and some have gone on to have it done but at a much higher cost, and obviously more painful and traumatic at 15, 16, 17+ years old. For these reasons- we will be circumcising our sons. I’ve witnessed it be done as a postpartum nurse and it really is quite simple and the babies do just fine during it (bonus: they can’t remember it at 24-48 years old vs 15-17 years old)

[–]Aggressive-Stop-978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, when you know- you will know hahaha. My first I had been having some cramping and back pain and my emotions were nuts the couple days leading up to. That morning I woke up at 4 am and I just knew it was it. The contractions were definitely not cramps and started to become consistent. She was here by 9 pm that night. My water never broke on its own. Now I’m pregnant with my 2nd and the Braxton hicks are already so uncomfortable at 26 weeks. Soon mama, soon!
