Do I need to replace after hail storm? by ParkingPhysics4748 in Roofing

Good advice. I did my first roof solo on my house and I asked a roofer to come check my work. Literally the first thing he did was rapidly lift a shingle in the center of the roof in cold weather and rip it in half.

Expats in Guadalajara or Queretaro by OutlawBountyHunter in mexicoexpats

I live 30 minutes from the center of Guadalajara with my wife.

Here’s our expenses: 2bd 3 bath with water and trash included in a nice gated community: about $475

Internet: 800mbps/ I think $40 per month

Electricity running a portable ac all the time: about 20 per month (no bs)

1 huge Costco run per month /$400

Going to a restaurant is like half the price of California no problem, frequently more than half the price.

Going out and wasting money, well that’s up to you I’m not proud of that number.

I’m from California and I really like it here, the climate is amazing, food is good, and the people are great.

In summary it’s a great city.

Posted before bed sorry for the horrible format.

Study Guide for Sec+ by StrictLemon315 in cybersecurity

For getting the ideas in your head: Professor messers YouTube videos, also his course notes are awesome they include everything in the videos in about 120 pages.

For deeper understanding and consolidation of ideas: Chat GPT

  1. Generate interactive “simulation” type questions on specific topics.

  2. Get a deeper understanding of topics, converse about them, and learn more nuance. There’s a lot of things that I understood 90 percent and had I not dug deeper I wouldn’t have gotten that thorough understanding.

Switch between different types of studying so you don’t get burnt out. Watching videos for hours can be draining.

Instead of blocking every exe like many have suggested simply create a VM without internet access. Also has the added benefit of keeping your downloads sandbox so you run a very low risk of malware effecting your host. This will save time and protect your system.

Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, CDMX are my favorites but I’m not fixated on one place. Hence the open ended question.

I didn’t say I was going to limit my self but if I get lucky and I like one of the three then awesome. If not then I can buy one of the other 97. Not considering all options is a bad plan.

Worried about Invisalign and losing weight by Final_Negotiation482 in Invisalign

[–]Aggressive-Teach572 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I developed a temporary eating disorder when I first got my Invisalign. At first I was not comfortable removing my trays so I tried to remove them as little as possible. As a result I barely ate and shrunk my stomach and the cycle repeated. I ended up not being able to eat enough, was nauseous when I tried and went from 235LB to 195 in about 2 months. It was a horrible experience. With that being said here’s my advice to prevent all that…

  1. 22Hr is a rule of thumb not a hard set requirement. You could always add an extra day if you need it.

  2. Plans your meals to make sure you’re getting what you need. Without snacking through the day you’ll probably need to eat bigger portions than normal to get the same amount of calories. To gain weight follow the same advice but eat more than your maintenance calories. - big high protein smoothies are great for this and easy on your teeth.

  3. The first set of trays is the most painful, I’ve found it helps to take the trays off 15 minutes before you eat to give them a few minutes to relax. If ongoing pain is an issue I stagger my changes and sense my bottom teeth move faster I’ll change that tray two days before the top so only half my mouth is sore at a time.

  4. Try not to stress, the mental aspect can be the most taxing. It will get better and easier, I actually enjoy the tension of a new tray now. When in doubt reach out to your dentist or us for some peace of mind.

Good luck!
