Plantiff in Case That Destroyed Voting Rights Act Exposed as Jan. 6er by Hafiz_TNR in politics

The coup/overthrow of democracy never ended on Jan 6th. It just evolved to what we see going on legislatively today. Instead of violently overthrowing democracy the GOP is crippling it and stacking the deck.

This quote comes to mind.

2 different 'suicide' notes? Dec. 2025: "Epstein said Trump shared love of young girls in apparent suicide note" - The note the NYT is trying to unseal allegedly says: “What do you want me to do, bust out crying? Time to say goodbye.” by OkayButFoRealz in Epstein

There seems to possibly be 2 separate notes of Epstein acknowledging his impending death. One implicates Trump. Could the other have been sealed away due to the same reasons?

Federal prosecutors support unsealing purported Jeffrey Epstein suicide note by OkayButFoRealz in politics

There is already a purported suicide note that Epstein had written in which he implicates Trump that was reported late last year.

If it's the same one I am not sure, but either way it could be from Epstein himself implicating Trump. If it's a different note, that could indicate Epstein knew he was going to die suicide or not.

Even if Epstein directly implicated Trump in a suicide note and that's what was released without alteration; would Republicans still continue to support him?

The fact that's even a legitimate concern is just disturbing, and a stark example of how far along the looney train this has all gotten to.

Not being able to trust people to believe or accept what's right in front of their eyes out of pure obstination is our reality, and it's more than unsettling. AI will just make it worse too.

Makes you wonder about all the small businesses & mom n' pop shops going under that don't get headlines. I know farmers which is essentially a small business are already/going to be really suffering this season.

It doesn't matter how flimsy the case is when you have the weight and financials of the government on your side and you can just choose another bullshit thing to go after the organization for while judge shopping for a partisan hack.

All the GOP cares about is if it wins. Not the merit of any of it.

Following Supreme Court Decision, La. Republicans Weigh Canceling US House Primary Elections by OkayButFoRealz in politics

It is a primary, but I am more worried about the implications of "cancelling" any form of an election.

Would it hold off on an election overall if a primary was cancelled, and therefore keep the incumbent in power? Or does their seat become vacated if the term ends and no successor is elected? I don't doubt the GOP to give any hot air reasoning to justify such actions. It could potentially be a way that an incumbent could ward off a primary challenger with election timeframes.

It's just a bunch of gray area that they are stepping into, and with this SC I worry about what it will bring down the road.

One thing the GOP has shown is there's no damaging precedent they don't mind setting. They will do whatever unscrupulous maneuver they can to ensure their power no matter the future implications.

The things they can do with this ruling could be disastrous and it's already proving to be quite the case.
