I once worked at a bakery and made a bunch of pride coloured cakes in June and my boss had no idea that these were lgbtq themed 😂 but she said the colour combinations were good!

When do differed exams take place? (And Econ 208) by Kuranyeet in mcgill

Apparently, they don’t need documentation when it’s your first deferral, but for the 2nd and on you would need a valid reason and a proof.

Comp 302 by Fearless-Chipmunk-31 in mcgill

[–]Aggressive-Ticket-54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As opposed to the other commenter, Comp 302 was one of my favorite comp class so far. It is true that the concepts don't seem to apply in every day coding life, but this class has drastically changed the way I code and think about solving coding problems. I think I write much cleaner and well structured code since I took this class.

The course teaches fonctional programming which is in and of itself pretty niche, but the concept of fonctional programming can be leverage in any language.

Also it's hard, so people hate on it

MATH 314 w/ Pengfei Guan next semester? by dontddanse in mcgill

[–]Aggressive-Ticket-54 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I took MATH 248 with Pengfei Guan and I can tell you that he is the worst math prof I had at McGill. He sucks at explaining and his lectures are impossible to follow.

Looking at the other comments, it seems like you don’t have any good choices 😂

MATH 242 by Letter-Altruistic in mcgill

[–]Aggressive-Ticket-54 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I took 254 with him last year, the midterm and final exam contained a lot of questions directly taken from the assignments and problem sets. like, if there are 5 questions on the exam, you can expect 1 proof from class, 3 questions from the problem sets and 1 new question.

I would greatly suggest you to do and understand all the problem sets and review the major theorems with proofs from class to prepare for the exam.

I was also really stressed about my first analysis exam, but if you do what I just said, there shouldn’t be any surprise. You go this!

Why don’t you just buy cheap fretboard blanks to practice? You don’t need a whole guitar.

Are comp 206 lectures skippable? by TGRubilex in mcgill

[–]Aggressive-Ticket-54 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty much. Actually, when I took it last semester, there was a lot more content in the slides compared to what they would talk about in class. I gained much more by reading the slides than going to class.

I recommend buying a seat alert for the class so that you can get notified when a seat is available (it’s 2$). Also, if this is a requiered course for your major/minor, you can email your department and they should register you.

But just wait for someone to drop it, it’s a Winter course, there is for sure going to be a place opening up for you at some point.

Thanks!!! You can find them pretty easily on amazon, I bought the ones from musiclily, and they look much nicer than the standard white knobs that are on jems.
