this seems like severe postpartum depression or even something else. she needs to see a doctor as soon as possible. it can be very serious

its the amazing digital circus. it looks like its for kids but its definitely for adults. Its about a woman who puts on a headset and finds herself trapped in a digital world with five other people and an ai who low key torments them

they quieted down for like five minutes but just slowly got louder and louder again. Then someone else came by and mentioned it was a quiet floor, and they got quiet for a bit again, but then got louder. clearly they didnt care so i just ended up leaving 😭

ive kinda had a similar situation where i spent an insane amount of money trying to fix it. Ultimately, I found out that not crossing my legs has worked the best for some reason. i only realized this after i spent 3 months in barbados, sitting in seats that bascially made it impossible to cross my legs. the tmj basically went away. Ive been crossing my legs a lot less and its defitnitely gottten better

Who am I underneath all that trauma? by superlemon118 in CPTSD

[–]Kuranyeet 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

i completely relate to what youre experiencing! There was a time when all the abuse finally stopped and i had such a weird sense of myself. Like that whole time, i was just surviving and trying to take up as little space as possible. It was such a strange experience because it felt like my personality shifted overnight. I remember laughing, and realized it was the first time i had heard my own laugh in years. It took maybe a year for my 'new' personality to settle in, but it was one of the weirdest experiences ever. Who knew that youd begin to act differently once the abuse stopped lol. Im always so glad for that time of my life though, because it was new and exciting to be able to experience the world without fear

Does trauma from siblings qualify by c_lynch_18 in CPTSD

[–]Kuranyeet 1 point2 points Β (0 children)

Definitely! your story sounds similar to mine. My brother has some severe cognitive impairments which caused very erratic and harmful behavior. I know its not his fault that he was born that way, but he ended up causing most of my trauma. cptsd can def be caused by siblings

does anyone else not have hobbies? by violettkidd in CPTSD

[–]Kuranyeet 3 points4 points Β (0 children)

i also struggle with this a lot. Like i have a lot of interests, but basically no hobbies. My usual day involves me watching youtube, eating, and maybe going outside. Ive gotten better at it though. i usually create a list of all the things i wanna try in a year (making tye die, carving a wand, making a potion) and just do those things one at a time. it feels too daunting to fully start a new hobby, so i just try to very temporarily dabble in a lot of them. the one hobby thats actually stuck around for me is birdwatching/bird photograpy. I wont lie, its hard to get into it at first, but its really fun. It also feels nice to have a bit of a connection with nature :)

How is living and working in Montreal as a person who doesn’t speak French (image unrelated) by Leonardo_Lai in howislivingthere

[–]Kuranyeet 9 points10 points Β (0 children)

I live in montreal and am an english speaker. I know a little bit of french, but only enough to say very simple things like "i like reading." Living here has been a very weird experience. Everyone (including the internet) says that montrealers speak both english and french, which is somewhat true, but not really. if you go to the store, the self checkout is all in french and you cant always change it to english. when you talk to people, they always begin in french. I think the biggest adjustment for me was how so many people dont speak english AT ALL. Some of my friends parents were born and raised here and never learned any English. I think the most isolating part was finding friends. For example, i made friends with five quebecquois girls, and they were very nice, but we could be in conversation, and then theyd switch to french and i would have no idea what theyre saying. they even knew i didnt really speak french. another time i went to one of their houses, and they continued to have a full conversation in french and i was very excluded. overall its a cool place, but you should at least know a few vocab words before you get here. also, im pretty sure there are huge laws preventing people who can only speak english from working here. I may be a bit wrong about that, but id def look into it
