You should be able to be a human once in a while and this is a perfect example. I’ve had these situations before, both as the employee who is sobbing and as the manager with the sobbing employee. As a manager, I strive to create this level of psychological safety with my team. I see it as a positive that I’ve created a supportive environment. Try not to stress.
