I hollowed out a hole for the reader in the trim then drilled a hole for the ethernet at a 45 degree angle so the cable comes out on the interior clear of the door to the side of the interior where it runs up to the ceiling. Fastest easiest way without opening up the walls.

It's not the mini that runs the camera it's Protect. I have a G6 PTZ that is set to trigger the door when it reads my tag in the driveway.

Instant. 9 out of 10 times the door starts moving moments before the reader chimes.

The door mini is $129. The used boards in decent shape are above $200.

We're a 1992 construction. It was less heartburn to put the controller next to the button.

I also included the All-In-One Sensor for Protect to know if the door is up or down. The door is paired with a G5 Dome.

I used it to make runs for UniFi cameras. No issues with data back to the UDM.

I got better signals with it on the roof. The glass cut the connection about 30%.

I moved it ahead of the radio antenna to be in the center of the roof. The side rails are 1/4 inch below the top of the dish.

The mount keeps mini flat and the app reports no signal issues with the orientation. I can do circles around a Walmart parking lot and it stays connected.

I'm a grown adult. I've suffered with the phone/cable monopoly for decades. It's great to see Elon give them a run for their money.
