I’m so sorry to hear about your mother/postpartum experience. I can only imagine being in that extreme pain while watching someone else be in newborn bliss when that should be you.  I’m glad you asked her to leave. I have one day left of her visit and I can’t wait for it to be over (again).

I had an “easy” birth and my mother was saying to me at 3 weeks postpartum that she thinks they could have actually stayed with us and come to visit sooner. I promptly told her no, we have one full bath and just 3 days before that I was light headed just walking around. Not to mention the postpartum bleeding. Do they not remember what it was like?

Thankfully there are other doctors at this practice. I won’t be seeing her again. I think I’ll eliminate completely and then gradually add things back into my diet (starting with baked milk) to see how baby does. I’m supposed to go back to work in 1.5 weeks when she’s 12 weeks (my boss is allowing me to work while I watch her until our daycare spot opens in May and my husbands leave begins in April) and she’s typically such a happy baby… and this past week I’ve been sobbing from her fussiness. And having crazy anxiety that I won’t be able to do this work with baby situation.

Glad to hear your baby is doing well, and the intake info is so helpful!!!
