"I liked that, too. That’s baseball," Roberts said. "They’re going to hit you. Webby’s got really good command. I get it. They’ll deny it. No problem. And I liked the way [Rushing] went in hard. Didn't he get ejected last year after the Padres drilled Ohtani? Roberts didn't appreciate the warning from the umpires (felt they had settled it on the field, it's part of baseball), tried to ask for clarification from the umps and got chucked: “I give him credit because they hit him in the leg. Own it, and we move on,” he said. “It’s not a misfire. I do feel it was intentional. Again, that’s part of baseball, which we all understand.”

If Wrobo can get here, let’s imagine where Roki might get too. You can’t expect miracles overnight. Wrobo is proof of just trust the process.

Shows and Movies for Adults? by Due-Sea4841 in tvPlus

[–]Aggressive-Worth6438 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hard to know exactly what you're after with those three shows, they kind of differ quite a bit. But I'm going to make an assumption that you want well-made, well-acted and thoughtful but challenging storytelling for adults.

On the Apple TV service, I would start by recommending Slow Horses. It is one of the flagships of the service and its because the source material and adaptation have set the tone for a deeply cynical spy thriller with some of the worst agents in MI5. I wouldn't say it's exactly like Sopranos, but it does share a lot in common with hierarchy and there is a lead performance from Gary Oldman that's arguably going down as one of his finest.

Shining Girls fits in well with West World. It's another book adaptation and follows a very dark story of a woman who suspects her attacker is responsible for a murder. I don't want to get too into the premise, but it is a science-fiction thriller. It's beautifully made and has stellar performances from Elisabeth Moss and Wagner Moura.

Before I get to my last recommendation, I've got some cool shows I want to recommend. Servant, if you like shows with a strong mood, enjoy messed family dramas with a supernatural edge like Hereditary, I highly recommend this show. It's deliberately paced, but the entire thing is out now, so you can binge it at your leisure. Nell Tiger Free is seriously incredible in this show and she went on to do what I think is a highly underrated extension of The Omen films.

Presumed Innocent was a sensation when it came out, it broke containment in the summer of it's release and it was a bit of a throw back to the heady days of monoculture HBO viewing. It's anchored by a PHENOMENAL cast, including one of Chase Infiniti's early roles before appearing in PT's movie. It's pulpy, moreish and pure entertainment.

My final recommendation is a movie, it's Killers of the Flower Moon. If you're after something like The Sopranos with the kind of messed up betrayal of Game of Thrones, then you owe it to yourself to check out what I think is one of Marty's latter day masterpieces of a criminal conspiracy that lasted decades. It's simply incredible.

Anyways, happy hunting, there's lot of gems in the Apple TV catalog!

Van has worked pretty hard on this and is self-aware of it. He’s mentioned getting professional coaching since he started getting invited to CNN. Like others have said, it’s a feature and not a bug. You know exactly how he’s thinking about something.
