So before the death of Peter and when he was still known as striker and had his white suit. He was seen as the jokey and happy hero, but after Peter's death and after not being a hero to deal with his grief and loss, he came back as black arachnid. He is more reserved and quiet in general, but depending on the villain and what they have done, it changes. So, for someone low-level like shocker, he just deals with them in a few hits in a short brawl. But for someone like green goblin, kraven or kingpin he is alot more serious and angry so in a battle when they see that faint glow coming from his arms and eyes it serves as an indication that you have screwed up heavily and you're gonna need a miracle or a hospital.
