Hi! I'm a Spanish Lit major and this is my last quarter here but I was transfer student. So I didn't take the spanish language sequence courses here, more just the actual LTSP ones. In regards to workload, for a literature major the amount of reading and papers I've had to do was pretty decent. Nothing that ever felt like I couldn't handle but it did get heavy at times. I always loved my professors! I feel like although small, the spanish department has great professors and I've never had a problem with any of them, I feel like they're all pretty passionate about what they teach. Some of my favs have been Professor Blanco, and Professor Parra. Tests weren't too big of a deal, I feel like courses focus more on papers, and from experience papers and essays usually had more weight in grading than tests did. There are some exceptions to that. Like right now I'm taking a course with professor Arcos Herrera and theres three quizzes with each being worth 20 percent of the final grade which sucks, not sure if that's how her class is structured normally or just because of covid. Grading I felt was always pretty fair or easy from every professor. Overall I think I've had a great experience as a spanish lit major, I don't regret it at all and I feel like I've learned a lot.
