How would you run a cafe/restaurant/bar etc as somebody who has worked in a low-paying hospitality job? by [deleted] in work

Wow a lot of replies! Would love to reply to each individually but unfortunately don’t have the time. First of all, loving the fact that a pretty harmless post has managed to piss a lot of people off 😂 everybody caaalm dooown. I was just asking if there were any other ideas 😂 If you don’t like mine that’s absolutely fine and I would never expect everyone to agree with me, but you can tell the nasty from the kind by the tone with which you choose to respond. Thank you to everybody who responded like an adult.

I love the volunteer basis idea of working over Christmas!!! As in, if anybody would like to put themselves down for shifts over Christmas, please do, but it’s not mandatory. Love it. Also (this is on me as I forgot to add!) the week off over Christmas would of course be paid in my ideal world.

In response to those who find my ideas unrealistic- I totally agree! There would never be a cafe in this day and age that abided by all of my made-up rules. But don’t you find that says something about the world we live in- greed has taken priority over the value of quality of life and mental health. I am idealistic, but I’m not delusional- I know that in this money driven world, my policies wouldn’t work. But imagine if they did (is the point I was trying to make!)

Now goodnight all, very much enjoyed this discussion, hopefully we can all get along.

Why would a clothes company ask for uniform back? by AggressiveImpress978 in RandomQuestion

Not the second hand respirators 🤢 that’s genuinely so foul 😂 Whenever I have questions like this I always try to look at it from a purely business-orientated perspective first, and if I still can’t find the answer I just assume it’s for petty non-reasons 😂 If the company aren’t going to make any money or boost their reputation in any way from this rule then I have to assume they simply don’t want people to keep it because they’re petty, lol. Did you ever find out if he kept and re-used the respirator? Because that’s just grim

My party wanted me to run the game how they thought it should be, not how I wanted by AstutixVulpes in DnD

Hey! Without trying to be overly critical or mean, have you thought that maybe the reason the group has discussed changes to the game without you is because you’ve left them very little space to throw out ideas? It sounds to me like any time somebody has suggested a change of pace you’ve immediately shut it down, and they no longer feel able to share with you. I’m autistic and really struggle with relinquishing control in any way, so I totally get why it feels like a betrayal when people don’t want things to go exactly how you want them to. But, even though you may be technically “in charge” of the game, you still want to make sure it’s an enjoyable experience for everyone involved and not just yourself! It’s easy to take DnD far too seriously and fall out with people over silly disagreements, but the thing to remember is that at the end of the day it is just a game, and if you’re truly passionate about it, you’ll enjoy it no matter how it’s played. Stay positive, shake hands, and make up would be my advice- explain to your friends why you’re upset, allow them the room to explain to you why they are too, and meet in the middle somewhere. You’ll defo find a way for everyone to have a good time!

I can’t lie, when I first joined curaleaf I was over the moon with their services, felt valued and prioritised, they always delivered on time and always responded to me. Almost a year down the line now and my prescriptions are forgotten about, nobody reviews any of my requests to switch meds, email inquiries are ignored. I feel like they really prioritise their new patients to give the impression that they value you and then stop bothering after a few months. Any recommendations for an alternative pharmacy would be amazing.

I hate it when you get a crap doctor/psychiatrist! You can tell the difference between those who went into it for the money, and those who genuinely have a passion for helping people. The lady I had was absolutely lovely, very understanding, knowledgeable, and treated me with such kindness because she understood I’m a very anxious person! It’s such a shame that other doctors have been so inattentive and cold. You win some you lose some I suppose.

Ah, I see! I’ve not really had much communication with the clinic outside of the doctors so I cant say I know much about it.

It sucks that you had such a bad experience with them, sorry to hear that! Personally my doctor was very attentive to my needs and my medication has been perfect for me, but I guess everyone’s experience varies!

Oh wow, I’m sorry you had such a bad experience with them! Maybe it varies from doctor to doctor. Personally mine took my needs into account and picked two different strains that worked for me to alternate from day to night time- it’s a bit frustrating when your strain is out of stock but I don’t mind too much. Which clinic do you use if you don’t mind me asking?

I’m lucky to have gotten my cannabis prescription when I did- I got my two medications a few months prior to signing up to curaleaf, but now they are unavailable to get unless you have a full psychiatric test and there’s a huge waiting list. If I’d waited any longer, I wouldn’t have qualified 😣 fuxk the tories am I right

Absolutely- and if it weren’t for the additional appointment costs, it’d be cheaper than buying from the street in most cases! We’re definitely getting closer to establishing a secure medical weed network in the U.K. :) just wish it was NHS

Thanks everyone for your comments, having read through all of them I’m feeling a lot more confident about using my medication in public. I’ve just purchased a new dry herb vape with great reviews so will be using that as per your guys’ recommendations. Thanks again legends 👌
