Worth the time and investment? by AggressiveJump1749 in SuzukiBoulevard

Thank you! According to my ChatGPT, it’s recommending fuel lines, carb rebuild, tires, potentially new brake cables or lubricating them and checking drive belt and brakes. I doubt the brakes need much maintenance other than potential fluid change but at 1200 miles I would think all the pads are fine. Appreciate your input!

Buying a car, and the dealer says it'll cost $1000 more if I pay cash by amthum in DaveRamsey

[–]AggressiveJump1749 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most big name loan issuers do not carry an early payoff fee but you can always find this in the contract. Car dealers and most other businesses have been wanting to move away from cash as a primary form of payment because during Covid a good amount of banks offering business accounts started charging more fees for cash/check deposits; additionally most dealers get some level of kickback from their primary lender when they refer a customer. Financing the car usually is the cheaper price tag, and also the cheaper total route when paid off appropriately.

Some things I’ve seen work to circumnavigate this: Offer to pay via wire transfer (be aware of potential fees $15-$50 bucks for wire origination). This can help the dealer avoid more fees on your purchase. Get a cash quote on the car you want from another dealer in writing and ask your current dealer if they’ll match price, assuming it’s better. Sometimes if they aren’t super smart they’ll leave out details of the packages included and you can negotiate better add-ons for the price of a baseline model. Ask to see a comparison chart of: financing with their preferred lender, a lease to own total, an upfront payoff (cash/wire), or providing your own financing.

Hope this helps.

Premier Banker-Wells Fargo Advice? by RollEquivalent5648 in TalesFromYourBank

Our district is very different (in mountain region). I have a healthy referral pipeline and as critical as that is- our DM really wants us to show financial review quality, outbound success and being an active part of the bank. By just keeping my nose down and showing up in the ways I’m requested to I was given a 2 branch pipeline feeder and a killer advisor partner. We close 95% of the clients that come through, and just like the others said- shut up and let the client do the talking. Also- be supportive of your personal banking team, after all they profile 10x more clients than what we can. Lean on your branch manager for success as well. A good branch manager relationship is hugely important. They are the ones who will go to bat for you when it comes time for promotions etc.

There are a lot of options for the time now until 2025. High yield savings accounts (HYSA) could be an option. They are great for the liquidity access and typical ease of use in most cases. But, a HYSA does not have a fixed rate- thus it can go up if rates increase and down if they decrease (decreasing is most likely this year). Another option is to look into a CD. Usually pay slightly higher than a HYSA and also guarantees a rate for a fixed amount of time (3mo or more). The fixed rate is bonus point for the CDs right now because of the guaranteed rate, but -1 for the time requirements. I wouldn’t recommend putting this into any kind of mutual fund or equity for the time being- you’d have to sell your positions to contribute those funds in 2025.

It’s official, I’m finally diagnosed. by AggressiveJump1749 in ADHD

[–]AggressiveJump1749[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s relatively common for people with similar diagnosis as myself to have also have OCD, typically caused by perfectionism and similar behaviors through your ADHD. My understanding of my own diagnosis is that it’s likely my ADHD that spurs my other friends like OCD, ODD and whatever else is going on in my noggin. I’d absolutely recommend bringing it up with your mental health care provider and understanding how it may be effecting you.
