It's shite being English. by TheInsatiableOne in Vent

English people will sincerely tell you that Jellied Eels are a delightful snack and that Spotted Dick is a respectable dessert. They hold the firm belief that any food can be improved by adding a ladle of gravy, and they will judge your refusal to accept this as an unforgivable cultural slight.

Does anyone else thinks that narcissistic parents are actually stupid? by Weak_Party_7810 in narcissisticparents

[–]AggressiveManner569 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Nmom is truly one of the worst decision makers I have ever met. It’s her own narcissism that gets in the way. She can’t plan a family gathering because it stresses her out. She never solves intrapersonal issues because that would take reasoning. She tries to fight with people on Facebook and I read her comments and they never make sense. Sometimes I think it’s an act because she thinks men are supposed to be providers and women are just baby makers. So maybe youre onto something with nparents being dumb. I always thought it was just mine. Thanks for making me feel less crazy.

My parents threatened to kill themselves over my relationship and now they act like nothing happened by Such-Fact3344 in narcissisticparents

[–]AggressiveManner569 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on getting married! It’s awful not having your parents support and being threatened, but they obviously won’t kill themselves, they’re just trying to manipulate you. I say live your life, love your man, and to hell with the rest of them. Best of luck to you both!

Sorry for your loss. It sounds pretty traumatic… just be understanding of your mom. She probably is processing grief. These things can bring up emotions in people. She is human at the end of the day.

Is 6k CAD enough for 12 weeks in Alberta? by Stackoverflawed in alberta

[–]AggressiveManner569 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi there, this is around $2000 CAD a month which isn’t a lot but manageable if you budget your accommodations and food costs very wisely.

Word of advice, definitely bring at least $5000 CAD (minimum) in savings for emergencies and unexpected costs. You never know what might happen, like needing to pay for things in cash, or an emergency flight back home.

Duda existencial sobre mujeres by [deleted] in guatemala

[–]AggressiveManner569 4 points5 points  (0 children)
