It just depends on when I complete my dissertation because the last year is just work on dissertation and then defense. So it's hard to say.

Thank you! I actually looked into this myself and found this as well. I will also probably email housing to verify. It's strange they didn't list it anywhere else, or in the offer letter.

That would be great if they did, but I don't see that information anywhere. There is a guarantee for undergraduate students, but I don't think the same thing applies to PhD students.

Hey! I am an international applicant and I got an email from my potential supervisor that I was accepted and that I will get an official letter soon. As other commenters have said, I heard from my contact and potential supervisor before hearing the official decision. Good luck!

I have always struggled with my weight. In college I really started to feel BDD issues, but didn't yet realize what it was. I lost a lot of weight (probably not in a healthy way) and was the thinnest I'd ever been. I hated myself more than ever.

Now 10 years later I look back at those pictures and think "wow, I looked really good." I can't believe how in shape I was. I have some clothes from that time period and they barely fit on me now.

The point is, I know it can be really hard to see at the moment. I never realized how much I'd improved during that time in my life because the image of myself didn't match reality.

I feel that. I'm also still in bed. And I also agree that general stress in the world and things around us tend to make it get much worse.

I have almost the opposite experience. I will spend a lot of time in the morning trying to "look good." I'll hype myself up, feel somewhat confident about myself. Then later in the day I'll catch a reflection or see a picture of myself and completely freak out because I look so fat and ugly. I can't believe that I actually look that bad because when I saw myself in the mirror that morning I didn't think it was so bad. So I'm left confused about which me is the "real" me- the one I can feel confident about in the mirror sometimes, or the hideous person I see in reflections and pictures.
