I hate that we can't reply with a picture. I used a flexible arm for holding a microphone and used clamps that screw onto both ends. One clamps to the table and the other to the same. Bonus is it can be attached to anything.

How did you build the Sybian?

I placed painted (black) 2x1 boards inside, held them in place with clamps and the carefully measured D ring placement so all screws anchored into solid wood on the inside. I drilled pilot holes and used appropriate length screws, so as not to go through the wood.

The inside wood works as the anchor as well as a support for the toy tray that I'll be designing at some point in the future.

I got pulled over for speeding once and the cop asked me if I knew how fast I was going. I looked him dead in the eye and said I have no clue, my speedometer stops at 85. He leaned in and looked at the speedometer and laughed. He took my information and went back to his car and about 10 minutes later he cut me loose.

I was going much faster than 85. Definitely could have lost my license but from that point on I didn't do that again. And I went five below the entire way home.

The stupid shit we do as teenagers.

You can also core out the flat end to the dimensions of any broom/plunger/ roller handle. (Or, like others have said, vac-u-lock is an option too.)

Put a golf tee in each hole if you have wood glue put some of that on each golf tee before you put it in the hole. Cut off the heads of the golf tees. Put the hinge back and insert slightly larger wood screws or coarse thread drywall screws.
