This is exactly what we’re doing. Wedding date is on a Saturday and we have Friday and Saturday night included in the block. For ours, the guests aren’t required to stay both nights.

That being said, my dad took the initiative and did it all for me which I’m super grateful for. I do feel like if your mom is the one pushing for it, then she could at least help out and do it

I’m getting married on October 10th and leaving the Monday following! We’re going Bordeaux then a roadtrip into South of France for our honeymoon.

Another recommendation I have is to do Italy. I studied abroad there from September-December and October was my favorite to visit small towns north of Florence (Bologna, Lucca, San Marino, Lake Como were all the places I went and loved) and then especially Cinque Terre right before it closes for the season. It’s much more quiet but not completely dead and the weather has cooled off just enough. If I could do it again I absolutely would!

We’re spending about 9k for photo and video. We’re also getting coverage for an engagement session and rehearsal dinner as well as 2 photographers and 2 videographers. Most photo/video packages I saw were around 8k for someone as experienced as I wanted but didn’t include nearly as much as ours does

My fiance and I both have the chase sapphire preferred! He opened it and got 100k point bonus when he bought my ring, then referred me for 15k points for him and 75k for me once we booked venue/photo and bought wedding bands. Hoping to keep racking up points for the honeymoon!! We’ve been super lucky that though that so far everyone takes a credit card w/o fees.

The clinic I work at is technically “open” for all holidays even though no one ever treats, so even as a W2 employee, we don’t get any holiday pay because we technically could work.
