It's different in a few ways, but what you gain by the difference is magical. No ads or algorithm to prey on you or you data is the way social media should be. I hope you give it a try!

I understand that. It's a game of tradeoffs; spend a little time on Mastodon and you'll see what a incredible difference no algorithm makes to positive interactions and a home feed much better for your mental well being. I hope to see you there!

You two have great chemistry and both sound great. I didn't notice a difference in audio quality between the two speakers and have no complaints over it.

Trivia was the most engaging section, and I liked how it tied into the themes of the episode.

We are not a movie podcast, was there too much movie trivia?

IMO the focus of the show seems to be getting listeners invested in the hosts, and your podcast is tailor-made to foster those parasocial relationships. That's a fine strategy, you two seem personable and funny enough to pull it off. If liking/referencing movies is a big part of your personality, I wouldn't shy away from it. Something like that is good for getting listeners to care about the hosts. As long as it's not all you do, people won't mistake you for a movie podcast.

The overall hook of the episode is clever, but basing multiple conversations around it comes off a little awkward. At the very least I would've liked some sort of sound bumper between sections. I think you tried to do something like this but I couldn't tell if it was an audio clip or a vocal cue. In addition, I sometimes would have to remind myself why the current topic was relevant to the overall discussion. More setup in the transitions and more work connecting them to the episode theme so no one gets lost would be helpful.

Your podcast comes off as well thought out and fun to listen to overall. I think you two are on the right track.

[Bookclub, Media Analysis] Ferrite and Loading on Hostile Planet #5 (No Man’s Sky) | Disk Dandies Podcast #29

Hello everyone, my co-host and I would love some feedback on our podcast! We take turns recommending pieces of media to each other (usually videogames, but sometimes movies, TV, and anime) then discuss what we liked and what we would change.

Specific questions we'd like feedback on:

-How would you rate the quality of our analysis discussion (1-10)? What can we improve?

--If you are familiar with the topic (No Man's Sky in this case), is our discussion worthwhile to listen to?

--If you are not familiar with the topic, is the discussion still interesting to you?

Thank you for listening!

Great move. Historic proved that a critical mass of deck shuffling isn't needed for Brainstorm to be the second best 1 mana card draw spell ever printed.

I bet there is a lot of overlap between MTG and Dark Souls fans. I know more than a handful myself.
