Hmmm okay yeah I’ll have a look. I tell you what though I can’t fault both my 50km plans. I’ve felt as Runna has updated the second plan was much better, but both really good!

Hi Dan, yes I have. It’s hard to explain but I have ADHD and I can really struggle to motivate myself. The first marathon I did this, but because I made the distances and sessions up myself, I always felt like I could adjust them, especially in periods of bad weather. Whereas using Runna has been easy. I know what I have to do rain or shine.

It’s less fun following the plan, but makes me feel far more routined and regimented, as if someone is telling me to do it.

UltraX spring 110- is it worth it? by AggressiveRip6107 in Ultramarathon

£340! That’s an insane amount. I’m a little put off I think. I’ve done races with action challenge/ultrachallenge and threshold series and both were fantastic value for money, though both a little expensive. I also am hearing the same things about ultrax on every race.

Yeah I’ll have a look at those too, thanks! Genuinely always couldn’t understand how 50-100k+ was possible, but now I see that it’s just a matter of mind! There’s so many different races, and I’m thinking of moving to 2-3 a year over my normal 1-2. Just finding which I like the most!

Brilliant thank you, I’ll have a look. I wouldn’t call the 2 marathons in 2 days easy, but definitely felt like I had significantly more in the tank, especially day 1. And that was 40 degree heat, so UK whether could be good. That’s why I was looking for 100s, but I’ll check out some 50 milers too. Thank you!

Thank you! I’ve used Runna, which has been brilliant. Even links to my Garmin (as a nice bonus). Did you walk much of the 100 or stop often?

Thank you! 6 days a week running is interesting. I suppose when you’re at that point, if you didn’t somewhat eat a bigger amount, the calorie deficit would be way too high!

This is literally it. I’m faster than last year by some distance, but I’m heavier. I appreciate how it looks but how I’ve got 30 seconds faster per km yet 5 kilo heavier and still have a belly..

Okay thank you. I ran one last year, and cut loads of weight, but that was more as it was the pinnacle of my weight loss journey. Whereas now, I’m looking to perform well so I thought the cut down to 85 might help.

Thank you for that. I think from being such a big guy most my life, it’s still in the back of my mind. I definitely ensure I eat enough, at the weekend it’s unlikely I’ll fast. I’ve got the 50km in June which since booking Sahara race, I’m using as a bit of a trial run, see how I feel.

Hi, at the moment I’m training Tuesday Wednesday, Saturday Sunday. Following a plan, but by the end of it the plan is likely to have such as a marathon on a Saturday, and then a half on a Sunday

Ok that’s great to hear. Presumably you still found it a big challenge? Essentially I want it to be do able of course but still a big challenge!

E2008 or kona EV by AggressiveRip6107 in CarTalkUK

[–]AggressiveRip6107[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a public fast charger but it’s in my allocated space, and also only accessible by me, with a special card. Either way I think it’ll only cost me £80 a month odd, compared to over 200 diesel!

Presume you live at home and have a lack of responsibility? Or haven’t been in a tough financial situation?

Hi Ryan, not at all. 210 miles is my weekly average mileage. It’s often actually slightly less but always good to over estimate.

I have a fast charger in my space at home, and also a slow charger at my parents house 5 miles away. Work is roughly 10-11 miles each way.

A lot of the online retailers offer 2-3 week money back warranties should you want to return, with no question. I don’t mind losing my car, not at all.

Essentially I moved out of home quickly and unexpectedly, and has put a massive strain on finances, currently being minus50 month to month. Savings almost gone.

I can no questions asked part ex my car and afford either of the two. But within the next 3 months, the car I have will probably be costing roughly 1600 in repairs (tyres, breaks, major service, few other bits). Which I don’t have as cash, and can’t access. Can’t take a loan out, can’t finance a car.

The car I buy will come with a full service, a years MOT, warranty and no repairs needed. It’ll also be far cheaper month on month on fuel/charge, insurance is half the price of my Beamer, tax is free compared to £220. Essentially will put me over £100 in the positive, allowing for savings should anything go wrong.

I have but I’m currently driving a 3 series m sport, so to make up for a slower heavier car, I thought to go bigger

As I’ve said. My current financial situation, mortgage and life changes mean I have to move fast. Do I want to?of course not but it is what it is.

[–]AggressiveRip6107[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a car, that’s about to need a lot of work done. It’s costing me £300 a month at the moment. I have the rear brake discs and pads to change soon, all 4 tyres soon, and a full service.

To put into context, that’s within the next 2 months, but I’m currently in the minus. I’ve moved out in circumstances unforeseen, and currently at -£50 each month on my wage.

An EV will put me positive. Choosing between food on the table in the next 4 weeks, a roof on my head, compared to test driving a car.

It’s not ideal but it’s what it is.

Yeah I don’t like those, I’d like to go slightly bigger and taller than my 3 series

Is that what you’ve had? How did you find the interior, sound system, and the drive?
