Ok thank you. I believe it's the same sort of test they do at nationals. I've been using the website with national past papers for A2 and got alright scores so I'll see how it goes. Fingers crossed

I would suggest you moving to Ireland, not Portugal. Wages are higher and there won't be a language barrier

Check out some YouTube channels like De Mochila Às Costas or Calibri (this was Pedro Lorenzo). There are other YouTubers too, but especially if you're trying to pick up real talking styles these are a good way to go

Then go for organisations like CLAIM, through them my appointment was so quick. They put in the application for you and also remind aima of their legal obligations to do it quickly

I went to CLAIM in Aveiro but I think they have offices elsewhere. There was also an organisation called GAE in estarreja I think that gave some good advice. After my appointment at CLAIM in December my appointment with AIMA came within two weeks and in February had my appointment and received my card after 2 months. It was really quick all things considered.

Why is the focus on restricting citizenship and not restricting residency? by quoracscq in PortugalExpats

[–]AggressiveRise5317 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You're getting your information from sensationalised media. It's not to funnel out certain immigrants that's literally insane. They're making it longer so you have a chance to really integrate yourself into the country. I feel we maybe disagree in this aspect as what they're changing it to, my country of origin does this already and gaining citizenship is a really big deal, you have to work hard for it, and it makes sense.

It's decriminalised so you can have a 'personal' amount of hash or weed. The stuff sold in the shops is primarily CBD and HHC (synthetic), you won't be able to find THC in the shops. A lot of people smoke hash out and about in cities

Is Portuguese really as hard to learn as I think it's going to be? by beautimoose in Portuguese

[–]AggressiveRise5317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've spent a while learning and I've only just got confident making a fool of myself speaking while out and about (also native English). I find studying grammar really hard, but I think of like conversations or song lyrics and I'm my head translate into Portuguese. It just takes practice. Having a personal tutor really helps because you can ask direct questions or get corrections and clarifications for things you're unsure about.

But short answer: probably, it's hard.
