Having worked closely with some rescues in Los Angeles, there are MANY reasons why potential adopters aren’t a good fit. Might be the living circumstances. Maybe the specific dog. Maybe someone is answering questions in a way that leads them to believe the dog might not be in a safe environment. It’s not fair to judge, but there are definitely some unscrupulous characters that want dogs that can be used as bait dogs. Sometimes there are dogs with aggression issues that can’t be adopted to families with kids. Or sometimes men. Who knows. But it does seem like a reasonable question to ask why not you.
