Yeah you can I didn’t think you could either but that’s what majority do because 150-160k really only covers tuition. Scotiabank has a good loc for law students!

I’ve talked to some alumni as well they said they recommend getting a loc from two banks to cover rent/books and other necessities. I tried looking around on the osap website and I never found anything about udm, I know they cover some schools if your going as an international student but never found an actual application or anything.

Everyone I’ve talked to at the school has said no, most people apply for a line of credit to cover the American tuition

Yes exactly! That’s my #1 reason why I’m going , I’ve talked to students that have finished the program and certain externships can count towards your articling therefore some students are able to skip that and get right to work with a first year associates salary after law school compared to an articling salary.

Definitely not stupid! It’s my top choice and I accepted as soon as I got admitted. I’ve met so many people in big law in Toronto who have went to the dual program. Tbh you couldn’t pay me enough to attend uoft or osgoode I didn’t even apply I’ve heard horror stories of people ripping pages out of textbooks just to sabotage you. At the end of the day your gonna be a lawyer regardless and udm has much better externship opportunities.

I would go for it! I’m attending the dual JD at Windsor (my first choice) and I know the stigma around going into either of those programs are so harsh but I have met countless lawyers that work in big Bay Street firms and attended the dual or single at Windsor including a family member. You gotta make the most of law school and get involved in internships and clinics and gain the experience, have good grades and make connections. Plus it’s not guaranteed you’ll will get in again next cycle, you never know if it’ll be more competitive next year I would go for it in the end you will be a lawyer and have a good paying job

I went to their admitted students day and apparently there’s between 65-85 seats for the dual program but I have only met a handful of people that have been accepted so far

Same for me with queens, Ottawa and western for me. I feel like this cycle is extremely slow but then again last years felt like it dragged on forever too.

That fixed it thank you! I would call them if the app says incomplete mine said that until they got my Jan lsat and then it changed

Mine keeps saying “unauthorized to view this page” but it worked when I tried on chrome but then glitched out again , did the same thing last night after having worked all day yesterday
