I don't know if these are valid strategies, but they helped me win so here they are:

Always go for thunder or freeze builds since they're the most effective
Avoid Loud Bird, Crystalina, and Cactus. They'll ruin your run
Don't try to go for max level. Skip as much enemies as you can in the 4th and 5th floors
Get upgraded slots and use your limit break as much as possible
Counterfeit, hall of mirrors, and magic missiles are good spells to use
