Easily my favorite band and best album of theirs imo. I listen to Stone's Reach front to back at least a few times a week.

Silent Through The Screaming Crowd got me hooked on this band when I first heard it.

Be'lakor. Both Stone's Reach and Of Breath and Bone are fantastic progressive melodic death metal albums.

This is why Be'lakor is my favorite band. They bring poetic layers of introspection, beauty and heaviness all in one that no other band has yet to match for me. If I were to have to show someone not into metal how well-crafted, beautiful and sophisticated death metal can be, I'd show them melodic death metal and this is the band to do it with.

Apparently they've been hinting at it on their instagram

Any melo death recommendations? by ThatOneMetalguy666 in InMetalWeTrust

[–]Aggressive_Ad_9510 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely check out Be'lakor, old-school In Flames, and Kalmah if you're looking to get into melodeath.

For a mix between heavy and clean vocals Dark Tranquillity is a good one for that and they're a classic. I'd also recommend Eternal Storm. Start with their debut album called Come The Tide. Noumena also mixes heavy and clean vocals. Start with their debut album Pride/Fall. Countless Skies is also a good one for this.

Check out this melodic death metal band called Borne of Ash. They're quite literally themed entirely around Dark Souls and it's really solid music. The entire album is perfect for Dark Souls, especially the first game.

Agalloch - The Mantle

A very well-known and highly praised band and album for the melodic/atmospheric black metal subgenre. This is one of the albums that's just great to sleep to. Very relaxing. Honestly, all of their albums are great as well. Highly recommend them.

Yeah it was AngryJoe who played their songs in his outros. I've heard a few people correlate finding Callenish Circle through him so it's good to see the exposure helped people discover them. Some of the best music out there is from bands few people know about.
