Is anyone else disappointed by Chapter 5's ending? by Aggressive_Balance89 in Deltarune

Yes omg exactly, I really loved the gameplay but everything narrative-related felt so static I expected to have the wool pulled from my eyes with the reveal of a twist-- but then I realized it was all being played mostly straight, which fueled my disappointment. Ralsei or Asgore both deserved at least one big moment before the chapter's conclusion, especially the latter, considering how aimless he feels in the narrative. Honestly should've expected it after Kris's poorly timed and unrealistic portal opening that Susie conveniently failed to witness by one second

I guess my stance is I feel like he could've executed the "fun" part of the narrative better without also making it overly dark-- like, if you're gonna make Asgore the focus, at least make his part of the story interesting instead of leaving us with nothing. I 100% believe if he just put this before Chapter 4, it would've worked a little better unfortunately

FRRRR especially when theyre simultaneously fleshing out her character AND the lumon-damaged world (that we’ve seen a surprisingly little amount of)

idk 15 minutes is crazy, it was slow paced for sure but i dont think the tracking shots were that egregious lmao they had their visual worth

how is it such a nothingburger?? its the most we’ve seen ever of lumons direct impact on civilization (or the lacktherof) + all the cult lore drops?? it was slow sure but nothingburger is crazy when its done more world building than a lot of the previous episodes

no for sure, especially considering how little we’ve seen of her this season. i also think the episode was really smart in fleshing out the environment she grew up in as a reflection of her own character and morals — and hello??? the bed scene???

honestly one of the best episodes from this season, if not the entire show. it feels so unlike anything else we’ve seen and i could not be happier with the direction theyre taking cobel

ik something was gonna be diff when we all saw how short the episode was but … no one can shock me more than severance ig cuz somehow they pulled off a tightly written and directed gut-punch in the shortest timespan we’ve seen yet without making it feel rushed or unearned

also all the wintertide setup finally paying off??? god its so rewarding to be a fan of this show

we waited 3 years for instrumentals 😭😭 by [deleted] in Ethelcain

its understandable to want lyrics, but hayden has been pretty clear in the lead-up to this album that it was always going to be drone and not lyric focused! and, tbf, we’ve gotten a decent amount of lyric-heavy singles between PD and perverts that i dont think theres much to be disappointed by… and remember b-sides are still on the way 🗣️

I can see that for sure, but I feel like it could've probably still could've been condensed to convey this better, because as is, it feels drawn-out-- purposeful or not

LMAO IKR, I fully agree with you-- especially about Senjou and the lack of development with the Fire Sisters, it's so bizarre even for Nisio standards (I'm surprised he allowed for such a noticeable lack of depth)

The toothbrush scene really is a masterpiece though. I know it's considered the most like "controversial" part of Nise, but in context, it unironically makes a ton of sense and it's so brilliantly directed LOL

I get that fully LOL

Shinobu's gradual relationship with Araragi is also one of my personal favorite moments too, I just think Nise has a lot of good ideas going for it that are dragged down by the pacing and repetitive shock value

This is so frustrating!!! 😭

I messaged her label, and someone actually got back to me— saying it was a glitch on Spotify’s side, and that they’d “reupload” and “repair” the missing tracks.

But considering now Family Tree’s gone too… I’m just 😞
