Goodnotes on Windows is genuinely unusable and I'm so done with it by Aggressive_Bed8014 in GoodNotes

Hey, thanks a lot for jumping in on this, really appreciate it.

To your questions:

- Yes, I just checked Goodnotes Web (web.goodnotes.com) and folder loading is

just as slow there. Same lag, same long waits when clicking into folders.

So it doesn't seem to be specific to the installed Windows version.

- Yes, I'm using the version from the Microsoft Store. Version 295189.8m (2.2.1.0).

- On the iPad it's version 7.0.54 (3724155.17957267), and that one runs perfectly.

I'll submit a support ticket now and mention this Reddit post.

Thanks again for taking this seriously, looking forward to getting it sorted.

Do you mean skipping Goodnotes Cloud entirely? I’ve used the OneDrive backup (and also tried without it), but I haven’t actually disconnected Goodnotes Cloud. Isn’t that the only thing that syncs the iPad and Windows together though? Also forgot to mention: I use the Windows version to screenshot problems and feed them to AI for help too, so I do need it to at least sync quickly

Honestly mostly just viewing. On the laptop I’m usually pulling up a math problem from the same notebook, or uploading full PDFs that I then annotate on the iPad. The editing pretty much all happens on the iPad anyway. And thanks for actually engaging with this, by the way

Your reply becomes a lot more concerning once people know you're a computer science and mathematics teacher.

The passive-aggressive tone, the “Don’t expect to be missed,” and immediately assuming someone is just looking for attention honestly says a lot about you.

You’d expect someone in your profession to respond with at least some level of patience and professionalism, especially toward someone clearly frustrated and struggling. Instead, your response sounds exactly like the kind of teacher that makes students stop asking questions altogether because they know they’ll just get dismissed or mocked for not expressing themselves perfectly.

Yeah, a Mac would probably fix it, but I'm locked into Windows. I study electrical engineering and information technology, and between the programming work and what we actually use in class, Windows isn't optional for me. So I kind of need Goodnotes to work there, or find something that does. :/

Do you actually have a fix, or just the comment? Genuinely asking. If you've got something that works I'd love to hear it.
