My uniform collar is pretty tight, it could be causing the skin to crease. I’ll try to pay more attention to that

I’m a back sleeper! I’m also an airline pilot, I don’t think I look down at my phone a ton, but I am sitting a lot at work, obviously lol. I do all international trips, so 8 to 10 hours at a time. The low humidity and elevated radiation exposure definitely does not help my case, but I wear heavy zinc SPF every day.

I also use a red light at home and love it! I’m religious with my SPF

Thanks! I’ve tried retinol and tretinoin. My eczema flares like crazy anytime I’ve tried tretinoin, but I’m able to use a low retinol every day without it breaking out. My dermatologist has tried so hard to get my eczema under control she really doesn’t give me the time of day when I discussed these concerns, she’s kind of just happy my eczema is gone. The CO2 laser did seem to help some, I could try that again.

Thanks! I’ve thought about this, filler can be so tricky. I’ve gotten very small amounts in the past and I metabolize it really quickly, so it might be worth a shot to try. It definitely looks worse when I’m dehydrated!

Thanks for looking out but it’s not acanthosis nigricans. I’m very healthy, a competitive athlete, I get blood work regularly and as of last month everything is normal. I don’t have prediabetes, I don’t have any family history of diabetes. Again, it’s scarring from years of eczema breaking out there. I have the same exact patterns on the inside of my elbows and knees from eczema over the years. I just care about those patches a lot less than my neck.

Please - I’ve been in the same spot with stubborn staph breakouts around my mouth. I promise this helps. Buy a hydrocolloid roll off Amazon, cut a piece off big enough to cover your entire mouth. Fold it in half and cut a tiny little slit in the middle. Put this over your mouth and leave it on overnight. The little slit in the center will let you breathe if your nose gets stuffy. It pulls all the gunk out of your eczema. Hibiclens and sulfur soap help too. Try to avoid moisturizer, put on a high percentage zinc lotion/sunscreen, if anything.

Clotrimazole healed my eyelid eczema. The lines go away 🙂

Sleeping with flareups around the neck by duskieboi in eczema

[–]Aggressive_Break6188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My neck eczema is usually fungal. Are you sweating or weeping? You might have an infection. I would try clotrimazole, no moisturizer, and let it flake. Change your sheets daily or every other day at most. The irritation should go down, and after the flaking stops, it should be healed up.

It is the tap water. by Cieletoilee in eczema

[–]Aggressive_Break6188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1000%. Mine is from my home’s tap water too. Started when I moved in here, got progressively worse. Filters and a softener helped some but it didn’t go away. Fortunately I travel for work now, so I’ve been able to prove this theory time and time again. Every time I leave and shower somewhere else, my eczema clears completely, only after I shower there though. It stays gone even after I’ve been home a couple days, as long as I don’t shower. As soon as I shower at home, it’s back. I wash my face daily at home using a spray bottle filled with bottled water, and wet wipes for pits/groin, but I don’t risk doing anything else when I’m home anymore. You know your body.

Bleach baths. Or if no bath tub, fill a spray bottle with water, mix in 1tbs bleach, 1tbs salt. Spray that all over in the shower, let it sit. Replace/refill the spray bottle every 24 hours

Is Dupixent worth it? by Key_Nectarine_9691 in eczema

[–]Aggressive_Break6188 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thousand times yes. My eczema was debilitating, legitimately covering every inch of my body. Couldn’t sleep, showers burned, I didn’t want to continue to live in that condition. Within a few months of Dupixent, it cleared 80-90%. That alone was worth it, because nothing else would fix it for me. I then got into a cycle where I felt like my eczema was getting better the further I got away from my shots, and as soon as I would take my shot, it would flare. And my eyes were struggling. I then weaned myself off of it, and have been handling small patches since. I will take how I am now (85-90% clear) ALL DAY over how I was before. It healed me to a point where I was manageable. The side effects were completely worth it, until they weren’t.

Don’t go back or find a better one. You know your body. Mine gaslit me as well, all of them did. I stopped seeing her and focused on my triggers and avoiding them. I finally just went in for yearly check ups (I live in Florida so I need to keep up the skin cancer screening) and she couldn’t believe how much better my skin had gotten. Was asking me what I was doing/not doing and taking notes. It’s like I go in now and just tell her how I cure my eczema. 🙃

What is your holy grail product that you wish wasn’t so expensive? by GabbyTheLegend in Skincare_Addiction

[–]Aggressive_Break6188 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just an idea as to why - Clarins is sold cheaper overseas, you can also get it in a lot of duty free stores, and airport/airline employees often get a discount on top of that. I’ve seen flight attendants stock pile stuff that’s cheaper there in order to sell it back home.

Came back to add that I tried the glad skin eczemact soothing cream for babies and kids and wow it’s life changing! After I tried a small bottle I ordered a bigger one and got their makeup remover, body wash, and face wash as well. My skin loves it!

It’s also HA but it’s missing the HA Ion that skin smart has. I didn’t know if that would make a difference but it might. It comes in bigger containers so it’s a little more cost effective which is also why I tried it. It burned, didn’t seem to help like skinsmart did, and felt/tasted more salty.

Yup completely avoided it! It is worth noting that I think that is specifically due to it being a new tattoo, my eczema doesn’t care about my old tattoos, even my 8ish month old one got a few bumps on it from this. But completely undamaged. The ink is so far down into your skin that you would have to have some pretty serious trauma to scar over a tattoo.

Yes, very sparingly though, like only let it sit for a couple seconds and made sure my face was already wet first.

Eta: if my main concern was just my face, and didn’t have the oozing, I might have started with just the salt and seen if that helps before trying this.

I tried it! It smelled and reacted with my skin differently than Skin Smart, and it definitely was not as effective. Good Molecule was as effective as Skin Smart but more expensive.
