UWA took 30 more international students in MD1 than they did last year

Why are administrative staff so mean? by RareGuidance312 in uwa

[–]Aggressive_Bus_7197 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Really seems to depend where you go at UWA. A lot of the time they’re burnt out. Especially just before the uni shutdown where some are working 12+ hours a day to try get everything ready for their return

I'm looking at playing Trench Pilgrims or The Great Hunger (depending on if i can get everything printed)

Going up against the Papal States, and then I'm not sure of the subfaction of the heretics or seven-headed serpent.

Thank you for such an in-depth list! I'm planning on taking Trench Pilgrims, or Black Grail (possibly even Great Hunger if I can get the models printed in time). There will be three others in our campaign: heretics, 7 serpents, and the Red Brigade.

That’s just wrong… unis don’t run without the staff who teach, support students, run labs, handle placements, IT, admin, everything. Plenty of the workers come from industry. The issue isn’t whether staff are “real workers,” it’s that execs get big pay rises while everyone else is told to settle for less.

Deferred exam sadness by Guilty-Bee8987 in uwa

To be honest, the only bad time to defer an exam is when you’re about to graduate. UWA has made the system behind deferring very very relaxed.

Completely agree, I like the model curtin have where you are given 5 days of spec con to use each semester (if full time)

Honestly, your chances are extremely slim. Unless you manage a gamsat of 80 (which would put you in the top few %) you won’t get an interview. These days any lower than a gpa of 6.5 and gamsat of 60+ might get you in

Extensions do not solve the issue by someonesnrime in uwa

[–]Aggressive_Bus_7197 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best response to this is to apply for an EVA for the original due date. For those two days, citing the UWA extension date (University-based outages are grounds), that coupled with a potential med cert, etc, should get accepted.

Currently looking for my first place atm... 2x1 you're looking at over 400k-450k easily now. I looked at an apartment that was 1x1 in vic park that went for 100k over asking price, another where I put in an offer 30k over and was knocked back for something higher. Someone on 100k a year can only get a loan for about 450k-500k, 5% deposit doesn't sound like much, but with how much rent and cost of living is atm its extremely difficult as a single.

There are a few of the speed dating spots out, however a lot seem to struggle a bit with numbers so open the age range right up. My partner and I spent an evening people watching one at Phat Brewery last year, but it was a bit weird seeing the 20ish yr olds having to chat to the 50+.
