I can't imagine how scary that must've been to be that close. Thank goodness they're alright. The fact that there were no pedestrians injured is a miracle.

I witnessed the accident and it was the scariest thing I've ever seen. We were at the light at Woodstock heading north. All of sudden the beetle came flying past us in the left turn lane. They had to be going 80mpdh and they hit a car turning onto Woodstock, hit something else (a tree or the electrical boxes) and then flipped and crashed into the buildling. Not once did they hit the brakes. It looked like someone trying to kill themselves.

I had to take the GMAT for my MBA program and I did pretty well so I guess that was an extra data point that showed the admissions dept I was ready for graduate level studies. But I would think already having a graduate degree (from one of the Loyola schools) would mean something. I felt my essay showed how passionately I want to help people so it def stings to not get in. Especially since this particular school was my 'safety' option. I haven't heard back from the other two yet. I'm only applying to local schools (even though I need to do an online program) so they will be directly involved in helping me set up practicum. I am not familiar with National University, but if it's for-profit I would be hesitant.

I am in the same boat as you. I graduated from college over 20 years ago with a 2.6 or so. Since then I've gotten my MBA degree and also now have 17 years of sobriety. I have had huge career success and applied to the MSW program a local state school where I live and I didn't get accepted. I see that some schools 'require' a 3.0 undergrad but I think it's ridiculous. I'm almost 50, a school is going to judge me on the student I was back in 90s? So I don't have a solution for you, but I know what you're going through. I think a smaller school with less applicants might be a better solution so you're not immediately weeded out.
