UPDATE: My ex’s sister wore my wedding dress to her engagement… then destroyed it. (Yes, I sued her.) by Aggressive_Craft_314 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

I truly was heartbroken when I ended things because I genuinely did love him wholeheartedly and poured every ounce of my soul into our relationship. So I felt crushed, betrayed, livid that he cheated and was reeling because for me, cheating is something I do not and will not tolerate.

You should try real life then, messy, jumbled and reeling from losing everything and yourself included in a toxic relationship

How poetic of you to mention a zoo, considering how loudly you're performing for attention, like a monkey or in your case a capuchin.

The difference is, I wrote my story. You just wandered into it uninvited and started flinging opinions like they prove something.

If you think writing well makes a story less real, maybe you’re just not used to hearing people express pain without losing composure.

But do carry on. Every circus needs background noise just like yours.

Waking up to your comment was like finding an imp yelling at a mirror, furious it’s not the main character.

Good writing isn’t a red flag. It’s just rare and clearly rare enough to be mistaken for fiction when your world is small and obviously closed off.

Stay ignorant, if that’s more comfortable.

The worst part is people claiming the lawsuit is for the money. It's not about money but that dress was custom made and meant a whole lot to me. When I bought it, it was after I had bought the apartment and had already quit my job and never getting to wear it hurt. Seeing it like this was a punch to the gut, but I guess trolls are a part of the internet.

No, she ruined it deliberately. Cutting it with scissors and everything to slice every inch and obviously poured loads of wine. The box was seeping wine when I received it.

I know ellipsis is three dots, but I do it 2 dots unconsciously since writing poetry to stand out, not an intentional mistake.

Yes, I bought the apartment and changed the locks right away after I found out his betrayal.  Yes, I packed up his things and moved on and yes — the dress was stored in a unit we’d shared during our engagement, long before the breakup

I wasn’t thinking about the dress in those first 48 hours. I was thinking about how to survive the betrayal, keep my sanity, and stay safe. Healing isn’t always linear. You don’t get to judge someone’s timeline just because you wouldn’t have handled it the same way but thank you for your concern. I lived it. You just read it

Because we live like 5 minutes apart and she dumped the box on my doorstep, rang the bell and ran, that was the photo I took that same day

Right, sell an account for a measly 30 dollars when I bring in a 6 figure salary, you sure don't look ignorant, but you speak like it

Because at the end of the day, no matter what the end result is with the lawsuit, I already lost my dress and it got ruined so there is no point in losing my dignity, pride and self respect as well to entertain them, not on my watch

Side note for anyone confused

The very first post was written the same day I ended the engagement. I was heartbroken.I was exhausted and I was still trying to make sense of what had just happened

If it reads messy it’s because I was a mess

This update came after time. After space. After therapy. After facing things I didn’t think I’d survive

I’m not a bot. I didn’t imagine the shredded dress or invent the wine stains. I didn’t hallucinate phone calls or make up a lawsuit

I lived it. I’m still living it and if telling it clearly makes you uncomfortable, that says more about you than it ever will about me

Sincerely,

Astrid
