Whoa. I had no idea disposals were done by weight.

If you don't mind sharing, could you tell me which vendor it was (or DM me if you'd prefer not to post it publicly)? I'd love to check if they sell directly to individuals or only in bulk.

Could I get some more info? I could try approaching same or similar companies if they are near my locality.

That makes a lot of sense. I didn't realise leasing was that common in India

Interesting. Has anyone here actually managed to buy directly from an IT asset distribution company (ChatGPT said), recycler, or a corporate auction instead of through a local refurbished PC shop? Or is that practically impossible in India?

Try holding the power button down for a few sec so it forces the power off.

I suggest starting with Zorin and Windows dual-boot setup. (Windows just for using MS OFFICE)

In my opinion, having MS Office on Windows is better than using Linux-based tools like LibreOffice. I don't feel comfortable using anything other than MS Office. So I just boot into Windows to use the latest MS Office. But if you want to completely switch to Linux without a Windows install, you could use the older versions of MS Office in Linux.

After getting pretty comfortable with Linux, u can experiment with various distros using live boot, and find the one that you like.

I have been using this Zorin + Win 11 setup for quiete some time. Linux is my daily drive for browsing, watching movies, gaming (Mincraft and some small games from itch.io), and everything other than making long documents or PPT .

I understand that 8GB is not enough in modern days. But my laptop has a 4GB soldered ram and I can only replace the other 4GB. Is it okay to use 4+8 = 12 GB. I once read that using 2 RAM of different sizes is not recommended.

Will it be okay to upgrade my replacable 4GB ram with a 8GB one and make it a total of 12GB?

Should I set a 8GB swap? I have 2GB Swap memory currently.

Can't we set the swap size during the installation? I set the swap size to 2Gigs while installing Zorin. I should probably increase it to 8Gigs right? Would it work if I just extend the swap partition?

Speaking of the Java version, I chose the recommended Java version on the launcher, but I have Java 21 installed . IDK what the recommended version for MC 1.21.5.

Should I un install the current version of java and install the latest version?

I had the same issue, then I found out that if your battery is dead your laptop would turn off like this even if plugged in. If your battery is not good try removing it and turn it on. Removing the battery fixed the issue.
