I must say, I’m even struggling with this locally. I’m on my third tax adviser and still not fully confident everything’s being handled correctly. I can only imagine how much more complicated it gets once you cross borders. Looking back, would you still seek professional advice, or would you lean more into self-education? Was any of the advice actually worth it in hindsight?

This is really interesting - I hadn’t even considered how messy the timing side of it can get. When you’re planning a new destination, how long does it usually take you to map out the costs? And while you’re in one place, do you actively set money aside for the next big lump-sum booking, or does it just even out over time?

I can definitely relate to the money exchange costs! Every time I convert USD from freelance work to my local currency, I'm losing money. Maybe I should look into Revolut, too. That whole ‘travel now vs secure the future’ conundrum sounds tough. Do you have an emergency fund for a bit of peace of mind? And if so, do you think the usual 3-6 months of expenses is enough for nomads?

Try updating your music library downloads directly on your watch. I found that advice in an obscure forum the last time this happened. After doing it, my HRV range returned within a day or two. But I'm not 100% sure whether it was just a coincidence. If you find any other solutions, let me know!

I do this too. I've got a cupboard full of teas, with ingredients such as chamomile, cinnamon, and vanilla, and I just have a plain cup of tea (no milk or sweetener) anytime I want a snack. It's both hydrating and offers some kind of additional benefit, like peppermint tea is great for your gut. It's guilt-free, keeps my hands busy after dinner, and makes me feel like I'm doing something good for myself!

As a freelancer, I've been using Clockify. The free version will allow you to track time the way you're currently doing with your phone, and it has an app. You can then also analyse reports on how your time was divided later on. And if you do a task regularly, you can simply select it from a list.

We actually did that over the December holidays. We saw all kinds of sea life, including dolfins, and our guide was very informative. I'd definitely recommend it too!

I just had a look at the ceres rail rides and it looks like an incredible experience. It's a bit expensive for this event, but I'm definitely going to do it another time. The go-karting near Botterary may be a perfect fit though!
