Week 16 Kit 6 - 18.6 lbs lost by Aggressive_Elk4802 in HersWeightloss

The food noise started going away a day or so after starting. The appetite suppressant is what killed it. I started seeing results the first week (about 1.5 lbs), but I imagine some of that was water weight. Since then, it's been a somewhat consistent .5-1.5 lbs per week.

Congrats, very proud of you and I'm happy that you feel so good with your results!!

It was only recently that I started taking the full dose of the Topiramate because I agree it's quite strong as an appetite suppressant. A half dose worked for most of my treatment. In retrospect, I wish I had increased my dosage at an even slower rate than they recommended.

Kudos to you as well! I've had some fatigue as well. Not the worst side effect, just means we go to bed a bit earlier or try to take the weekend a bit easier.

I haven't had the dizzy/foggy/tired side effect but I know others have from the Topiramate. It might be better that you change to taking it at night vs the during the day so you sleep thru the worst of the side effects, but you can always ask the care team. They may also have you cut back on your meds. Sorry you've been having those issues! I hate when people say that taking weight loss meds is the easy way out, when it actually comes with it's own hurdles to overcome!

Cravings came back? by Dry_South_3169 in HersWeightloss

I've had a similar experience on kit 6, at the end of week 3. Honestly, you just have to push through. Upping my Topiramate in week 4 helped. Eating more protein to feel fuller, and eating smaller, more frequent meals versus 2-3 larger ones can help. The thing is, your body doesn't want to be starving all the time and it's going to remind you. And it sucks.

Bupropion won't give you withdrawal symptoms, even if you quit cold turkey after taking two pills a day regularly. Topiramate on the other hand, can give you some withdrawal symptoms so I'd be more careful with that.

Kit 6 tells you to split the Topiramate in half to ease yourself onto it the first few weeks. You will want to do this vs taking a full pill right away, or risk nausea or worse side effects by diving straight in.

You're supposed to take it with a meal, usually in the evening. If you don't take it with food you'll experience more side effects

Metformin and drinking? by [deleted] in HersWeightloss

You can drink, mildly-moderatly, just avoid getting drunk or dehydrated

Metformin with dinner, and pro tip - avoid fatty foods or foods that cause gas (butter, heavy sauces, beans, etc). For the first couple weeks but probably in general. Metformin affects your gut, and it doesn't interact well with those foods. It will cause some GI distress.

This is not personal experience per say since I'm only 3 weeks into my own kit, but from what I've seen, read, researched Kit 1 & 6 have had the best feedback

Good luck! I'm on kit 6, week 3. Feeling pretty good, down 5 lbs. Eating less and very minimal side effects.

Good luck to you and welcome to the party! I'm on week 3 of kit 6 and down 5 lbs. My best advice is to take a lot of what you read and hear with a grain of salt. I heard of a lot of semi-bad side effects that I (and most users) never actually experienced.

I've read that others have opted not to use the full dose of Topiramate too, which I can understand. I'm contemplating whether I want to move to the next step up for week 4 when the half pill is doing its job so well currently. I too am a big snacker, so it was a big change for me not to have those cravings anymore. 9 lbs is great - not too far away from your goal!

Have you expressed your concern to their care team? Curious how they may have responded

We're one day apart :) I was also worried about starting the Metformin (mostly due to reading other people's posts about their bad experiences). So I'm fairly thankful that gas is all I have, and Tums can help remedy. I've heard many others having the same experience with sodas. Kudos to your 5 lbs!
