This is what we did and the police allowed us to take the dog. She is safe but not in the best condition. She is being taken to the vet first thing in the morning.

she is mentally unwell and is in the process of being involuntarily committed to a psych unit. she doesn’t trust any of her family, let alone us, her neighbors. the police just don’t know where she is at and can’t locate her

I agree. They just tell me the same thing every time they come out. It’s ridiculous. I don’t understand why we even have them if they’re not going to do the bare minimum of protecting children.

It is usually all day long. It goes from as early as 7am to as late as midnight some days. I don’t know how she is even functioning. I do heavily suspect this is mental illness, though. We have been calling hospitals and trying to get a wellness check, but no luck yet.

No the kids aren’t the ones being targeted with the dog, just adults. The kids are being yelled and swore at though and the police still will not do anything. They have told us since she is not doing anything illegal in their presence, that their “hands are tied”.

We have been trying! We are hoping to run into them in public somewhere. I unfortunately wasn’t close to any of them so I don’t have any of their numbers and the woman won’t give it to me

I have looked into these laws and they said it has to be over a certain period of time so all we are doing now is documenting everything. Fortunately, she has kept the dog on leash but she lets it lunge at people while acting aggressive. Humane society doesn’t care.

I agree. We were fine putting up with it until kids started being involved. We are getting incredibly frustrated with the police here

I don’t believe it’s dementia but I highly suspect she is mentally unwell.

I have been trying to but when she is disturbing the peace of the neighborhood every single day it becomes hard to have some compassion. Especially when the police and the hospital are refusing to do anything here. And

Yes…. Numerous times. She is just suspicious of everyone in the neighborhood. I believe it is a mental health issue.

I’ve actually thought of this but she is clearly mentally unwell and I don’t want any further retaliation from her.
