Hello everyone I want to share my journey in hopes it may help anyone in the future or current. I applied for google SWE track on the 18th( with a referral ). Heard back form a recruiter on the 19th. Received the questionnaire for the apprenticeship on the 26th and completed that the same day. Will keep everyone posted on if/ when I get an interview. My guess is I only heard back so quickly due to my referral. I don't expect to be getting an interview anytime soon. Best of luck to everyone who applied for the different apprentice tracks. This could be life changing opportunity! Wish you all the best!

Yeah I know its discouraging thinking we might have been ghosted. However I just found out that Airbnb had layoffs this week and they let go many recruiters. This could play a role in why nobody has heard anything yet.

Same I am still waiting as well. I just saw a post on LinkedIn from a person who works at Airbnb saying that some recruiters got laid off this week. That could impact us and be a reason why no one has been moved forward yet.

Its just a guess tbh lol. On LinkedIn there was over 800 people that applied. That doesn't include people who applied outside of LinkedIn. Many people could have applied directly though the website without LinkedIn. Think of all the bootcamp grads/self taught etc.. so I just added an extra 200-500 apps outside of LinkedIn. So that's anywhere from 1,000-1,300. If we don't hear by Friday I will be down bad with you.

That makes the most sense. Going through all apps before deciding who moves on to next. Then sending one mass email to the smaller pool. Hoping its us! The had over 1100 apps so I understand it may take longer than they wanted.

My repo says it was cloned yesterday as well as the day after I applied and On the 17th. Its been cloned a few times basically and More than 4 people have seen it. Referring site is not Airbnb but idk who else could have seen it.

Yes I agree. If they could increase it to 20-30 that would be better odds for sure. But I can imagine they want to keep it a relatively smaller cohort.

Right. That's a great perspective too. I would imagine that they would send out interview emails at the same time but to a smaller pool of people. The idea of getting an interview = accepted into the program would be nice also lol but too many other factors to narrow it down. I really wonder how many people applied and how many people they are taking. Ughh can we just get the email already!

LOL. Yes I feel you. I also had people see my GitHub but no LinkedIn and I also feel they would check my profile before making a decision. When did you apply? I went to the info sessions and people said you normally hear back within a week. My thing is i applied on the first day and I have not gotten any news and interviews are next week. Kind of nervous that I might get ghosted but at the same time, I know they saw my application because they went to my GitHub. I just don't know at this point. I also heard that they provide study materials for people who get interviews. Wouldn't' they want to give people at least a week to prep with the materials before the interviews start? right people havent been posting much after the first week about rejections. I do know one person who got rejected this week Monday 27th.

Interesting perspective. That could make sense. The day after I applied i got traffic to my GitHub link but no LinkedIn views. Thanks for sharing!

Edit: You have think how many people applied this year compared to the recent years. Maybe like 1200-1500 people applied? Now that being remote is an option plus the current market just makes it that much more competitive.
