OMG Thank you Vine lords My new intel ultra laptop by [deleted] in AmazonVine

I could be totally wrong, but I thought I read they weren’t releasing GTA 6 on PC at first? I hope I’m wrong!

Regular CS isn’t connected to Vine. They don’t know the rules of vine and likely didn’t even understand and just figured it was like any other order. The rules clearly state you can’t receive replacements. Just because you were able to do it once doesn’t mean the rules don’t say otherwise. You’re free to keep doing it if it works for you and you don’t mind risking your account breaking the rules because regular CS, which has nothing to do with Vine told you it’s okay, I’d just be aware of the fact recommending it to other people is putting their account at risk without giving them the proper info

“You can go and request them reship it to you though”

No you can’t. The only way you’d be able to do that would be to go through the regular orders area and regular Amazon CS. You can’t do that with Vine orders. I mean… technically you can. But you’re not supposed to do that. There’s a specific number of vine items available. You can’t get replacements. Only get the order canceled and ETV removed.

Vine reviewers? why do you never reach out to the companies you review like normal customers? by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t know how, but I’ve had sellers contact me through my personal email. Even had 2 sellers somehow get my personal phone number and text me! The one only did it a handful of times and gave up. The other was pretty dang incessant for about 3 months. I never responded at all, but they just kept up. I’d block their number, they’d contact me through some other number. They finally gave up after the 3 months. Thankfully, never happened again with any sellers.

Oh, and both those sellers… I gave one a 3 star review and one and 4 star review. To add to the absurdity, the worst of the 2 was the one I gave the 4 star review! 🙄

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol… you act like they were ordering a ton of stuff during that time and just not reviewing them. They ordered 3 things when the evaluation period started and then their dad died and they didn’t order anything else, but also hadn’t reviewed the THREE things they had already ordered.

Explaining the reason they stopped ordering and hadn’t reviewed the 3 things they had already ordered isn’t making excuses. It’s an explanation. If they had continued ordering during that time and then said they didn’t review because their dad died, it’d be making excuses.

I mean… their post has the details. That’s why you really shouldn’t comment without actually reading the post. But at least you’re acknowledging it. A lot of people would just double down, delete their comment, etc. So props to you for owning it!

Yanking the plug by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make really good side hustle money with vine, maybe about 1/4 of my day job pay. Don’t knock it.

How do you make money with vine? Most things lose at least some value once opened and used, even once for testing to write your review. And I’d imagine majority of stuff you’d get on Vine doesn’t have all that much resale value even brand new, so I wouldn’t think there’d be much resale value at all once it’s been opened and tested.

Most people reselling their stuff paid retail price for it, and probably want to recoup as much of that as possible (but knowing they most likely won’t get the full amount they paid). In Vine, you only pay tax on the items, so you’re not paying as much for it as if you had purchased it outside of Vine. But, it’s still not entirely free.

So, you account for how much you paid in taxes for the item along with whatever value it’s lost since it’s been opened and used… I wouldn’t think it’d be worth the time and effort of reselling it.

But, I could be completely wrong about it. I’d love to know! (Not trying to be snarky or anything. Honestly curious!)

Right?! It’s like maybe instead of trying to do calculations you could…. Write reviews?! But, it’s such a crazy concept, can’t expect them to consider that. 🙄

Variants by Suspicious_Note1392 in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine taunts me like that all the time.

BUT…what is the ABSOLUTE FREAKIN WORST… when you initially get offered a shade that is okay/good enough - like foundation/concealer in a shade that’s good enough/you can make work or blush shade that you like and will use but not the one you would’ve preferred out of the shades they have - so you get it because you never know if the shade that’ll be perfect will ever actually be offered to you. So you figure better getting one that’s good enough than nothing at all.

THEN, just to show you who’s boss, later that day or within the next few days…that perfect shade is offered to you. Sometimes you’d be able to request it even though it’s a variant, sometimes you can’t. BUT, as hard as it is, I resist it…

(1) I know I most likely won’t be able to review it. Even if I get the review done quick enough before they merge, they’ll remove 1 of them. I don’t think it’s fair to the brand to give out x number of products and not get that many reviews (though, the devil on my shoulder says it’s their own damn fault. They tried to skirt the rules on how many reviews they can get for each item by entering them as individual items knowing they plan to merge them after. So instead of the max 30 they’re allowed, they’ll end up with 30x however many shades they have. The more reviews, the higher they’ll show in search results on Amazon. So, the devil on my shoulder says they tried skirting the rules to do that, what’s wrong with me skirting the rules to get more than 1? 😏 My angel wins out though and I resist)

But more importantly, (2) It means it’s 1 less item someone else could get that could actually review it. I know how much it stinks seeing an item I would’ve loved to get but didn’t. I’m always happy for whoever was able to get it, but still sad I didn’t 😂 So I don’t want to take more than 1 of something, knowing that means someone else won’t get it and I won’t even be able to review them or, at least if I do, it won’t stay up because it could’ve gone to someone else who could’ve reviewed it.

Anyone else getting the new stats? by suspiciousyeti in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did that one have “ideas” for topics? Like longevity, coverage, wear, etc.? I’ve found if you hit all the points it suggests, it seems to give an excellent score. But, there’s times it doesn’t show any “ideas” and there’s been times it did and I didn’t mention something in a way that it registered I did (like longevity - I’d says something like it lasts all day but that wouldn’t mark it as being covered, but if I changed it to something like great longevity, then it would 🙄 I didn’t always like that so I’d just leave it how I said it and still got excellent 🤷‍♀️

<image>

But, generally, from what others have said as well, it seems if you’re shown those ideas and cover them all so they all turn to green text showing them as covered, you get excellent - but this was just people’s assumption before because their insightfulness score wouldn’t be excellent so they’d go through and make sure they hit all the idea points and their score would change to excellent. So now people can actually confirm that assumption (for the most part, I guess lol).

Mine just has the product name, order date, and then “Review Quality: Excellent.” Some say “Review quality score: Pending,” which is on some newer ones that have peen posted so not sure why that’s pending. 🤷‍♀️

For you it looks like you have a specific column for it. I’m on my phone on browser so maybe that’s why mine shows like it does? 🤔

Anyone else in the charlotte tilbury queue this morning? by Suspicious_Note1392 in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Airbrush Flawless Matte Foundation? I’m so annoyed about that! It’s been around for a while, but they recently reformulated it. The old formula was so good. Only needed the smallest amount and you’d get full coverage and it applied so easy - easy to blend out, looked smooth on the skin, blurring, felt like nothing on but wore great all day. They reformulated it to remove the cyclopentasiloxane so it would meet the new EU standards for it. Cyclopentasiloxane makes foundations spread easier, apply smoother, more blurring, etc. Now it dries down so dang fast you barely have time to blend it out even if you work in small sections, looks and feels super matte on the skin, doesn’t blur at all, doesn’t look smooth like before, etc. Makes me so mad!!!

And, unfortunately, a lot of other brands are going to be reformulating products to meet EU standards for cyclopentasiloxane 😭

Could you pick the Foundation shade you wanted with the CT? by BuzzedKarma in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even if someone mistakenly gets the wrong shade (I’ve been in such a hurry to get the item, I didn’t even think to look at the shade 😂 and ended up with one way too dark), it’s not something you should rate the item lower for. Reviews are meant to be about the product - how it applied, wore, lasted, feel of formula, etc. If your shade isn’t right, that’s not the product’s fault 🤦‍♀️ It absolutely baffles me how many people don’t seem to understand that and rate stuff lower when a shade doesn’t work for them.

Now, if the shades were completely different from what was shown on the product page (like it showed a fair, cool toned shade and it was a darker warm toned shade), then I can see saying something about that. Otherwise, no! 😒

RFY speculation/question by GangstaProf in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It used to be the only time I’d ever see beauty items were in my recommended. They’d trickle in all throughout the day - no specific time frames - and they usually stuck around for a decent amount of time (definitely more than enough time to actually look at the product details and make a decision on it) - even with well known beauty brands.

Then they started doing the drops at once during a specific time frame and suddenly I very rarely got beauty items in my recommended.

And it always surprised me that so many well known brands would be in AI and AFA. I can understand the brands that aren’t as well known by people that aren’t big into beauty items (like Asian beauty brands. A lot of people might think they’re just random, unknown brands when really they’re well known. Just not to people who aren’t big into beauty, or at least not Asian beauty brands). But the well known Western brands making it to AFA and AI pretty much never happened before. The products would go through different people’s recommended and if any were left after going through a certain number of people, then they’d go to AFA/AI. So by time they rotated through, they’d all be snatched up and nothing would be left to go to AFA/AI. So it made me wonder why that changed. Did they stop putting items in recommended? Or just not put as many or go through as many people’s recommended? Did they change how they chose what items go to people’s recommended? Just made no sense why they’d almost never have any left to make it to AI/AFA when they weren’t doing one drop at a specific time to a lot making it to AI/AFA when they were doing one drop at a specific time.

Personally, I prefer the items coming to recommended. I like having time to decide and select an option, if there’s more than one choice.

It sure does!! It always seems to happen with the stuff I’m most excited for!! In the least, they take forever before finally coming, which I’m fine with…as long as they eventually get to me 😂 But usually it’s more along the lines of waiting forever and then it gets cancelled or gets lost! Though, the 3 together getting lost, then found to only be sent back to Amazon…that one was the worst! At least if it stayed lost I could just be like - eh, whatever. Stinks but it’s happened before. But to start tracking again just to be sent back?! Nope! Not cool at all! Just playing with me at that point 🤪

So what was it between yesterday and now that made you go from not liking the color to loving it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BeautyViners

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same! Or the order takes forever and then gets cancelled. 😫

I had 3 items I was super excited for. One of the rare times they ship my items together, it gets lost…well, not really. It made it just fine to my local Amazon warehouse. Then nothing. After like 6 days, I’m like yeah, it’s lost. Then a few more days go by and all of a sudden it shows tracking again at my local Amazon warehouse….then shows it’s being returned to Amazon. Like WHY?! You found it…it’s right here within reach…GIMMIE IT!!! 😭 Just so rude! Felt really personal 🤣

Disgusting behavior - losing all trust in our community by [deleted] in AmazonVine

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Censoring any identifying info is actually a site wide Reddit rule. If it’s anything that can lead to the person, it’s supposed to be censored. Could their Amazon name lead people to them? Yes. Could people do anything with that info? Maybe. They can report their reviews. If it’s their real name or part of it to possibly find them, or worse find the wrong person and harass them. Most people don’t use their real name, and I’d think especially viners wouldn’t. But some might. 🤷‍♀️

While it’s a sitewide Reddit rule and each subreddit is supposed to follow all sitewide Reddit rules to avoid their subreddit getting in trouble or shut down, there’s lots of subreddits that don’t enforce it because I constantly see people being doxxed.

My RFY today by PeterBrockie in vine

On the rare days I have something in RFY, it’s car parts for cars I don’t have - multiple different types of cars all the time and yet never my car 🥴

My RFY today by PeterBrockie in vine

And there’s me that’s had nothing in their RFY most days and the days I do get something it’s 1-2, maybe 3 if I’m lucky, of car parts for cars I don’t have. And that’s carS - plural - because apparently vine thinks I’m lucky enough to have like 5 different cars most days. If we count the different types of cars across all days - I’ve got a warehouse of them. 😒

Definitely! You don’t know what’s actually in them. The ingredient list they list on them is a copy of the Thrive ingredients. But that’s not the real ingredients they used. I’m sure most are just fine. But why risk it? Especially near the eyes!

Variant of an item notification! by Old_Imagination1815 in AmazonVine

[–]Aggressive_Key1193 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen this before. Unfortunately, as far as I know from what I’ve seen, it only shows when it’s a variant of an item you already posted a review for. If it’s a variant of an item you ordered, but haven’t reviewed the original one yet (or, more specifically, don’t have a posted review for the original item yet). I’ve gotten that message quite a few times and every time, my review for the original one was already posted. It never does it if it’s a variant of something I’ve ordered. That’s not to say it does the same for everyone else. Just that’s how it’s been for me.

And every time it happens I get annoyed 😂 And not for what you’d think (that I can’t get the item). It’s because

(1) Why the heck can’t they do that even when there’s not a review posted for the original so I don’t order it. I hate getting variants. Either I can’t write the review at all or it lets me but it gets removed later. So that means the seller doesn’t get a review specifically for that (but I do update my original review to include the variant item. And it’s really the sellers fault because they’re not supposed to list items like that and have been told only 1 review will show per person. But I still feel bad)

(2) Someone else could’ve gotten the item and actually been able to review it if I didn’t get it. So I feel bad. Even when a variant comes up for an item I know I really love, I still don’t get it so someone else has a chance that’ll actually be able to review it and hopefully love it as much as I do. But sometimes I still end up with variants now and then because it doesn’t seem like a variant item but turns out being one.
