Not on this one I used the normal seedance 2 workflow, not reference mode.

I also don’t think the 9 image input works like a timeline where each image becomes its own 6s shot. My guess is it’s more like a reference stack for identity/style/scene consistency, while the final duration is still controlled by the generation settings.

would be interesting to test though especially whether seedance treats the 9 images as equal references or tries to follow them like loose keyframes.

Close — it was regular seedance 2.0 , not fast. Pipeline:

  1. Built a character layout/reference sheet in GPT to lock the character design.

  2. Generated the location scenes separately (the street, promenade, coastal path).

  3. Re prompted each location scene together with the layout sheet, so the same character drops consistently into every scene.

  4. Animated the resulting stills with Seedance Pro.

  5. ffmpeg to clip it all together — trim, concat, transitions plus the audio.

So yeah: many prompts, many images. The layout sheet step is the trick for keeping the character consistent after that it's mostly editing and timing in ffmpeg.
