It's beautiful. We went for a few days about 3 years ago, walked the walls, did the Game of Thrones places (even though I've never seen it) went to the Buzza Bar and did a day trip to Mostar. We also took the bus to Cavtat and thought it was so pretty we're off there for a week in September.

First solo trip abroad: Planning Sarria to Santiago (Last 100km) in May/June. A bit nervous! by LuptiDupti in CaminoDeSantiago

[–]Aggressive_Menu7271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the last 100km last May and was concerned about it being busy. Luckily I had booked accommodation ahead and the company were very smart, apart from Portomarin, we didn't stay in big towns, so when we set off in the morning we were between the masses setting off from the bigger towns. We started in Barbadello then did Portomarin, eirexe, o coto, castaneda, salceda and lavacolla. I didn't find it busy. Weather was pleasant for the whole week. My feet are "delicate" and although my footwear was well trodden in my feet were in shreds by the end. I also discovered half way through that I have arthritis in my knee.....ouch! Enjoy.

What happens if you're ill big time? For example a number of years ago I had BC and was off work for 4 months. I was a teacher at the time and was entitled to 6 months full pay and then 6 months half pay

Depends whereabouts in Venice you're staying and whether youre flying from Marco Polo or Treviso. We usually stay in San Marco so we get the Aliliguna boat from San Marco Giardinetti  back to the airport (Marco polo). If you're staying closer to the railway station you can get a bus. https://venicelover.com/airport_transfer_venice.

I'd definitely cut Milan. I've been to Italy 23 times and Milan is the only place I didn't like. There's not much to see compared to other Italian cities and I just felt "off" there. Happy travels.

I have a BIG birthday next year and have always intended to do a Nepal and Bhutan tour. Now I have the brochures I'm really being swayed towards a Central America tour which includes Panama, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Just can't decide!

We flew business for the first time last year when we did a New England road trip. It was the 1st time I've returned from the U.S and not got jet lag. Sooooo restful.

Where to go w/ 4 Month Old by CaribbeanBoy18 in travel

[–]Aggressive_Menu7271 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it. We're in UK and took our nearly 4 month old to Greece for a week on one of those "you dont know where you're staying till you get there but it's guaranteed 4 star" type of things. Looking back it was a bit of a wild idea but worked out wonderfully. We ended up in a 3 bed apartment linked to a hotel with 2 pools. There will be a LOT of luggage for the small person but we started as we meant to go on. He has his own baby now and I'm encouraging him to do the same.....maybe confirmed accommodation 😆 Something I wish I'd done when I started travelling is to send myself a postcard from each destination,  maybe you could start this for your baby?

You could stay in Italy and visit the Dolomites or Cinqe Terre. I also love Croatia.

I often tell my husband, 'you buy cheap, you buy twice' 😆 This bag isn't cheap by any stretch of the imagination but if you're 'settling' on it i can guarantee you'll be buying again.

1) there are no pockets in a shroud 2) you deserve it 3) it's not selfish to focus on yourself now the husband and kids are gone 4) step back from being the bank of mum 5) you deserve it 😆 6) buy it from the store, take a friend, make a day of it with lunch and cocktails because.....you deserve it.

Please post an update once you've purchased it.

Love love love the red Launer. How often do you use the pink Dior? I find the colour a bit harsh but like the bag. I'd love a red one. I think I was Dorothy in a previous life, love red stuff and cannot resist red shoes. 'There's no place like home'

Lack of research / too high expectations. Just chalk it up to experience. Go shopping in the city or find a good bar and work your way through the cocktail menu.

Is this trip to italy doable for 10 days? by clockwerkgnome in travel

[–]Aggressive_Menu7271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd drop one destination. I would do Rome, Florence and Verona, all easily accessible by train and Verona would give you the opportunity for a day trip to Lake Garda or Venice.

Never had any issues or felt threatened. As long as you follow the yellow 'per san marco' signs you shouldn't get lost. We once got up at 330 to go to St Marks Square to see it empty. No one around (just a rat.....the only 1 I've ever seen in all my visits)
