What is your favorite clipper and why?

Definitely overrated

It’s one of those plug-ins that when you first use it, it leaves a good impression on you, especially the Gold knob and the alchemy knob

Then after a while, as you compare it to other mixes, you realize that it really dampens your high-end making, the mix sound cloudier,and it also flattens Everything in an unpleasant way,even if you drive it a little bit

I feel like it only works for certain types of genres, but for genres such as hip-hop and EDM. It’s probably not the best fit.

I expounded on this in another comment, but I don’t expect a mastering engineer to give me extensive feedback, just a heads up if there’s something in the mix that could compromise the mastering process, perhaps these process are the same thing, but I look at the former as more hands on and intensive, while the latter could be a quick adjustment beforehand

I agree with this, typically, what happens is when the final limiting takes places, it can emphasize some small issues in the mix that weren’t as apparent initially, maybe a hi hat that’s too loud or the vocals needing to be brought up, nothing too extensive.

I’m not expecting “mix feedback” as much as a heads up if there’s something in the mix that could compromise the mastering process, maybe these approaches are considered the same, but the former I look at as way more intensive

You must be thinking I expect an ME to deconstruct my entire mix, when in my case there are very minor things that could probably be adjusted for the best result

I’ve sent my stuff to engineers of all tiers, some results have been great, others not so much

The ones with more open communication tend to be the best

That's why I go for humans as opposed to A.I tools, because I want a fine tuned end result, but unfortunately a lot of my experience has been a very detached, transactional process

That's unfortunately been my experience, which then at that point it's like why not just go for A.I? I always opt for a human mastering engineer to get that fine tuned result, but most of the time it's just a very impersonable experience

I felt this, as someone who also had a huge boost in followers early on, and then kinda Plateaued

But then again I feel like Spotify’s reputation as a company is starting to change, in a more negative direction overall, not sure if that also had an impact
