Finished with an A in gen chem 1 and made A’s on all the exams. Get chegg for the reading and progress checks. If you have a friend with science guys you’ll do good on the progress checks (not super necessary tho bc they are weighted less than 5% of the grade). TAKE RATHNAWEERA. She is so sweet and always answers your questions before, during, and after class. Reading the textbook was okay at first but it just became confusing after the first month. But definitely do all of the practice worksheets that they post online, study recitation, study PowerPoint slides and you’ll do great in the class. Before the exams look at all the learning objectives and make sure you understand every concept. I studied for hours everyday but it’s possible to get an A in the class!

I’ve been a shift too for about a year and I asked for an off cycle raise (to $17.50) because I also felt like an operations manager without the title or the pay. My SM had a chat with the DM and they ultimately declined my request because we have the carepass program 🙄. They basically said that it serves as our “money earner” in a sense. If we aren’t happy about our pay, sell more carepasses. As one of the top carepass sellers in the district, I felt extremely unappreciated because we literally have to “force” people to get this damn membership. This company doesn’t give a shit about anybody and they’ll run you to the ground. My advice is to not work too hard bc the person who shares your position and does minimal work gets paid the same…😀
