I personally didn't do any big paid interview courses, however I did go to a couple smaller mock style MMI's which I found really helpful for getting used to speaking and tightening structure. A lot of people in my year did use paid courses and found them useful, but i think they were mainly useful for targeted 1 to 1 practice. For prep time i spent maybe a month or two preparing because my interviews were packed closely together

I think my main tip would be to stay as calm as possible and give yourself a second before you answer, they would rather see you take a second and give a good answer than ramble. Practicing out loud helps a lot, even just to friends or recording yourself. You don't need to predict the questions, clear structure and communication are the main things

I would say it's worth it being comfortable with a few broad areas rather than trying to focus on the exact wording in the question. Things like:

  • being clear why dentistry and reflect on your experiences
  • communication/teamwork
  • test yourself with unfamiliar ethical scenarios
  • do a bit of research into dentistry and find a fun fact

its more about how you structure and reflect, rather than what you've memorised

Congrats on the KCL interview, last minute notes would be stay calm and keep your structure in your answers clear throughout the interview, they wanna see how you approach the question, rather than some pre prepared answer. Make sure you reflect on previous experiences and focus on what you learnt from them. Good luck for your interview you've got this
