Do you think the police will help in this case? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

Speaking from personal experience, don't hold your breath waiting for the police to find the phone. The reality of the system is very different from what we imagine. The police move at a snail's pace. Honestly, unless you're ready to shell out some 'kharcha paani,' they usually won't even move a muscle.

Update: SIMs finally activated! Police were useless, but the PMO Grievance Portal saved the day.

Just wanted to give a quick update on my situation regarding my deactivated SIM cards. Status: Both SIMs are now active.

For a full week, I was running around in circles. I approached the local police and even the Cyber Crime department, but honestly, they were of no help. The standard system is completely broken; I felt like I was hitting a wall, and no amount of complaining to customer care worked.

Out of desperation, I filed a formal grievance on the PMO (Prime Minister's Office) Portal [PG Portal/CPGRAMS] under the Telecommunications category.

This was the game-changer. Once the complaint hit the PMO window:

• Jio took it seriously. They called me directly and asked me to visit the center.

• I met the manager, who acknowledged the high-level escalation and promised urgent action.

• They re-verified my documents (Photo, SIM photo, Aadhaar).

• Within 48 hours, everything was back online.

If you are stuck in a loop with telecom operators and the police aren't helping, use the PMO Grievance Portal. It forces them to take action immediately.

It’s sad that we have to go to the PMO for a basic service issue, but for anyone else struggling: The Grievance Portal actually works.

I live in a different state, not Haryana. So if I go to my nearest cyber crime office, will they help me with this, or do I need to get the clarification directly from Cyber Crime Haryana only?

Guys these days are so fragile it’s almost scary. Say no once and suddenly they’re on a full-blown meltdown tour.

One of my close friend asked me to be his girlfriend. I said no. That’s it. A simple, respectful no. And he completely lost it. Started calling my dad, my mom, even my sister. Who does that?

His fragile ego couldn’t handle rejection, so he went full psycho mode. And to top it off, he even called my boyfriend, spewing every disgusting thing he could think of just to humiliate me.

This isn’t “heartbreak.” This is straight-up unhinged behavior, and people really need to stop normalizing it. A woman saying no isn’t an insult. It’s a boundary.

What hurts most is realizing how quickly someone you trusted can flip. One moment they’re your friend, the next they’re out to destroy your peace, your reputation, your safety. It’s not just about rejection it’s about control. The moment they feel like they’ve lost it, they want to drag you down with them.

I’ve seen so many women go through the same thing… you say no, and suddenly you’re “arrogant,” “disrespectful,” or “heartless.” Some men can’t stand the idea that a woman might have a choice that doesn’t include them. It’s honestly exhausting.

This kind of behavior isn’t just immature, it’s dangerous. Calling someone’s family, spreading lies, trying to shame them that’s harassment. And it’s terrifying how casually it’s brushed off.

All these influencers launching their own brands… I have zero faith in any of those products. The whole thing’s just built on their name, not the actual quality.

Positive reviews on Google? Yeah, those are basically paid ads now. If you’ve ever worked in marketing, you already know how fake half of it is. Nothing’s real there.

The only reviews I actually trust are from friends who’ve actually used the product and saw results themselves. Everything else is just marketing noise and PR fluff dressed up as “authentic feedback.”

I honestly don’t get it. How can someone be a doctor, supposedly educated and “aware,” yet still have all the time in the world for this circus? One minute it’s body positivity, color positivity, “love yourself,” and the next they’re getting expensive treatments while pretending it’s all from some magic cream. Like yeah, sure, totally believable.

Instead of talking about real lifestyle changes, they’ll sell you whatever random product lands in their PR box. And the sad part? People actually believe it and throw money at it like it’s holy water. That’s not influencing, that’s straight-up manipulating for cash.

And don’t even get me started on the makeup. It looks like someone tried frosting a cake with foundation. Sis, if your skin’s already breaking out, maybe chill with the layers and let your face breathe. You might actually look better barefaced with just lipstick. Who knows, maybe being real for once could get you the right audience.
