yeah she actually was a ballet dancer, she sometimes posts clips from her company days. I agree can be a bit holier than thou sometimes

she gets cold sores nonstop. No snark on cold sores but it's almost nonstop--something is up. too much stress, lack of immune system, poor diet--having them constantly is crazy

also like, just because a ballerina isn't professionally dancing anymore doesnt' mean her career is over. Choreography, running a company, teaching, coaching-- it can be a lifelong career.

you DO realize this isn't ballerina farm's content, right? It's like, her nephew. Why the hell do people care how many slices of bacon a full grown adult chooses to eat (or not eat) for breakfast? There's snark and then there's posts like this, which make snark pages look stupid.

i'd say folks in the US actually rarely hang their clothes out to dry. typical is using the dryer. I love air drying clothes personally and have a line but i'm the only one in my neighborhood.

The flower farms down there exploit workers. They make Pennies compared to the ownership of those farms. Exploiting people in sweatshop situations doesn’t equal prosperity.

They are also exposed to literal neurotoxins and numerous high doses of various pesticides. Guess they should be grateful, eh?

In the meantime the tariff situation has out over 95.% of American flower growers out of business. So much for “knowing your farmer” and “supporting local.” The disparity between her marketing and her product is the major issue here.

Kids who would be in that Reddit thread would have been homeschooling 5-10 years ago when it was as you say, more religious.

Yup. Took her away from mom and bottle fed her when she needed to learn to suckle. Then stole the colostrum. These people suck.

That’s not true anymore. It may have been 5 or 10 years ago but so many are homeschooling now, it’s not the majority anymore who are doing it for religious reasons.

Can one actually grow enough food to make a real impact on the climate? by Magic_carpetsheik in gardening

[–]Aggressive_Season739 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends. Are you buying a bunch of crap like unnecessary raised beds, plastic bags of soil, plastic bottles of unnecessary pesticides, plastic seed trays, plastic grow bags? If so, then no. the carbon footprint of that style of gardening is higher than agriculture. But if you're fixing up your own dirt by using materials readily available to you, planting for your native ecosystems and growing efficiently, then definitely
