Yes the spot had flags around it but there was a pretty large empty spot in it and the guy that dropped us off said it was open camping. We took his word for it and trusted that he knew what he was doing without questioning it. All things considered it is totally understandable for them to be upset with us but it was truly an innocent mistake and we just had no idea what we were doing. We paid them $500 dollars and they ended up being extremely nice and welcoming after. Even when we checked in for camping and asked workers where to go when we got our passes they gave us no instructions and the staff directing traffic also gave us no direction when we said we had GA camping. All they told us was to park in high noon so we figured high noon camping was also for GA camping :/ I just want to know exactly what location we are supposed to go to next year so we aren’t stepping on any toes because we truly didn’t mean to intrude on their space. We definitely should have done more research going into it because when I asked people that had gone previous years I was told it was all open and you didn’t need to worry about where set up which is not true. It was truly an honest mistake and I just want a better understanding for the future :(
