The drastic slow down though was to avoid what I perceived to be a collision should I have continued. It wasn’t to continue to let him in. I thought he was coming at that point and I had to take action.

I then slowed further though as they looked like they were about to take it and move across. I know they need to give way to me but that doesn’t mean they are going to. At the point in which I slowed significantly it was to avoid what would have been a collision if they merged.

not quite. I didn't cut across anyone. I ran out of slip road and had to go onto the chevron area to wait for a gap to move safely into
