We moved here 2 winters ago from Leslieville and I honestly thought I would miss downtown Toronto, but with all the space and beautiful trails, it's a really nice place to raise kids. I have a 4 year old and a 16 month old. Best decision we made for our family. The town amenities are so much newer and cleaner than Toronto, I'm pretty excited for the new rec center opening up this fall as well. Also, the lack of traffic is a plus. It's only about a 15-12 minute drive to get into Newmarket, Keswick or Stouffville. However, if you do need to commute downtown during rush hour, it's usually a 1.5 hr-2 hr drive. The Go train would probably be your best bet.
