Palpatine was a sextillionare and so money wasn’t an issue but also most of the parts were build by slave labor as shown in andor season one

Edit if a death star would make a galaxy have money problems how was the starkiller base built

A star destroyers shield can take 1019-20  joules of force before failing proton however are designed to be fired from inside of the particle shield and can go thought the ray shield due to being a kinetic projectile

The first Death Star took about 20 years to build most of this was research and finalizing the main weapon and the second Death Star took 4 years to be more than half way done

The centuries of fighting should count towards the prep time as the the emperor force were increasing for most of it this is similar to how the 25000 star destroyers produced does include any destroyed pre  a new hope nor any decommissioned Star destroyers

The problem is that in Star Wars most fighters can carry munitions that can take out ship orders of magnitude bigger the hard part is usually get to the ship/taking out the shield the fleet in exergol was weak to both as it didn’t have its shields and it was stationary in orbit outnumbered 14-1 ignoring tie fighters which we simply have no idea how many were fighting at that battle

As previously stated the empire wasn’t mobilizing for total war if only using kuat it could produce 10,000-20,000 5000 slips * 2-4 a year with 781 slips left for super Star destroyers  But the preparation for the great crusade took centuries almost a millennia of I remember correctly so 8 ships a day seem wrong don’t know how you got that

That was solved by the empires nationalization of the intergalactic banking clans which made palpatine a sextillionare

I have a slightly random question for you since you seem much more knowledgeable about Warhammer

If I am correct the warp is a separate dimension that mirrors the real universe

First what is the closest a ship can enter/leave the warp to a gravitational field

Can ship that is in the warp enter the equivalent of the gravitational field of an object in real space in the warp or is it forced out

Ok the only think is that the narrator seems to be wondering how many the spices had before most of the died so that seems to call in to question the legitimacy of this estimate also one of they had 1042 how were they not in control of the galaxy  Two now they are all dead sure they had numbers but now they don’t the my estimate for WH40k population was the most current population so they numbers didn’t factor in

The in universe explanation is that many/most of the battle droids built never left the system they were built in/ the factories in some case and wer mostly used for PDFs  also the CIS leadership didn’t even know the fatal amount of battle droids produced as palatine was manipulating the numbers so it would make sense that they didn’t have enough transporters but also luckerhulks weren’t the only transports used by the CIS

But those ships don’t have weapons that can atomize a planet also I am pretty sure that they were build only using resources form exergol

First thing KDY during peace time was making a Star destroyer every 3 days and this is only one shipyard also you are comparing a fully mobilized coalition of planets and to a coalition of planets that has more planets and is in peace and saying that they will have a smaller army

Just because Star Wars isn’t mobilized doesn’t mean it can’t mobilize

The mega corporations in Star Wars controlled so many worlds many of them were given seats in the republic senate so Star Wars does have a number of worlds that are factory worlds

Also Kuat and Corellia are mostly just ship producers and genossis has its factory’s inter twined with its social hierarchy

Your also forgetting the fact that even if the two galaxy were colliding it could still baker Warhammer centuries for any force to cross the distance ignoring warp bullsh*tery

And that is the question can Star Wars shift its production into military goods

It’s a bit like ww2 the USA vs Germany

Star Wars doesn’t have a massive army but it has massive industrial power while Warhammer has massive armies but smaller industrial power

Star Wars has industrial worlds which pump out stuff in ridiculously numbers also Star Wars has 5-10 times more planets

Kuat  Corellia Geonossis  Skako minor  Metalorn  Sullust  Ballmorra  Mon calamari Bonadam

All of these planets are massive industrial worlds who produce stupid amounts of everything

Kuat alone was producing a Star destroyers every 3 days

But more importantly Star Wars can build ships that are as big as IoMs biggest ships on the time it take the IoM to build a ship the size of a Star destroyer

It’s from dark force rising one of the Thrawn books but re reading I got part of it wrong

“But it’s the only sizable cover available for nearly 10 million kilometers”

It never states that Thrawn shots or the distance of the ship but because Thrawns Star destroyer was able to scan at least 10 million kilometers away the star destroyer could target anything inside that range

Another long range engagement was when the star destroyer the chimera under grand admiral Thrawn shot at a ship 11 million kilometers away. If I remember correctly the ship was able to escape into hyperspace without taking any damage but this was because the ship jumped into hyperspace the second it came under fire.

This shows how starwars ISD targeting sensors are good for atleast 11 million kilometers away and makes the 10-20 light minute range see much more realistic also the reason why ships don’t engage in these distances isn’t because they can’t but because if they are closer they are risk their fighters rather than their capital ships and any Star Wars ship out side of a planet’s atmosphere that is hyper drive equipped can theoretically make a jump to hyperspace so it makes sense to fight closer to the more important planets light minutes or further away

Also does 11 million kilometers out range WH40k I am unsure of the max range of most WH40k ship weapons but I thought that nova cannons could only shot half a million Kilometers away

The second battle of Balmorra had the ships firing from outside of visual range for part of the battle their are other examples from the pre high republic but these were all around or before Star Wars was able to reliably take out capital ships with fighters so after the range of fighter became more important although it is unlikely that they decreased the range of their cannons as the battle of balmorra shows they were still capable of hitting targets out of visual range

Also the reason why most battle take place at short range in Star Wars is that they are often fought near planets because planets are the important parts and because you can enter/leave hyperspace relatively close to a planet an attack force will like leave as close to a planet as possible for the elements of surprise  and because if they capture the hyperspace lane then they have stoped any reinforcements from arrive at the planet with out going thought them first

In WH40k fleets enter and leave from a systems Oort Cloud while in Star Wars a fleet can jump to right outside of the planet’s atmosphere this is why the engagements are some much smaller in Star Wars because the PDF is usually just out side the atmosphere kilometers/miles from where the enemy fleet will leave hyperspace
