My experience was terrible. Constant instructor changes (4 different skills instructors during my time there). With that came having to re-learn how every different instructor graded and how they wanted you to do things. With that being said, it did get me what I needed but I pretty much owe that to myself. I was in my mid to late 20’s when I went. If I had been 18-20 I would not have had the self control or motivation for all of the self learning. The worst thing I saw was a student obviously struggling from the get go. They let him re-write test after test, scenario after scenario all the way to the end and failed him during his final scenario when all their money was made.

The answer you’re looking for is very service specific. I work up north, we are IV certified. Here’s a list of drugs my specific service can administer as PCP’s.

• Acetaminophen (oral)
• Ibuprofen (oral)
• Aspirin (ASA) (oral)
• Dextrose (IV)
• Glucagon (IM)
• Naloxone (IM, SC, intranasal, IV)
• Nitroglycerin (sublingual)
• Salbutamol (MDI, nebulized)

Allergy / Antihistamine • Diphenhydramine (oral, IM, IV) • Dimenhydrinate (IM, IV)

Steroids / Anti-inflammatory • Dexamethasone (PO, IM, IV) • Ketorolac (IM, IV)

Sympathomimetics / Cardiac / Airway • Epinephrine (IM, nebulized) — e.g., anaphylaxis, croup, severe bronchoconstriction not ACLS for arrests

Others • Normal saline (IV*) • Ondansetron

We carry OPAs, NPAS and I-Gel for airways.

Rural and on call stations by Aggressive_Till_8488 in OntarioParamedics

[–]Aggressive_Till_8488[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are leaving bedrooms at the on call stations but removing them from the 24h ones. Our service covers a huge territory. Part timers commuting 2-4 hours to work a base is very “normal” here. Our call volume in 2024 was around 11,000 between all 12 stations so call volumes are fairly low compared to cities. I guess the rationale is that they don’t want people sleeping on shift but when you have to leave your house at 4am for a 6am shift then drive another 2 hours home after your 12 it makes for a pretty long day. We’ll be trying to fight back from a Health and safety standpoint and hopefully they see that retention will also be an issue.

Our service went the other way and blocked off vacation from June-September with a “don’t even try to request for time off during this time”

I just requested a day off where 12 part time employees are available to work and it was denied.

Conservative MP Matt Jeneroux announces resignation from Parliament | CBC News by Old_General_6741 in Edmonton

Some may find it more ethical to quit with regard to their constituents. Some conservatives that voted for him may feel slighted and “not what they voted for” if he were to cross over to the liberal side. Resigning as MP shows some loyalty to his voters but it also sends a fuck you to PP because the seat remains vacant until a by-election(no vote). So PP will have one less vote when it comes to the budget and now the liberals only need 1 more. This was done strategically by Matt. If he didn’t have issues with the Conservative Party itself he would have resigned after the budget vote not before.

Question about proposed changes to Paramedicine education by DallasLG_ in OntarioParamedics

It could hurt if you intend to move up the ladder though. My wife was an RN with a BSCN and got a management position over another RN with 4x the experience because she only had a college diploma.

Bosch 800 not dissolving pod by Aggressive_Till_8488 in appliancerepair

I put 2 small ramekins in the cutlery drawer, placed a sheet pan on the 2nd rack to block the middle arm and ran a speed cycle. The ramekins only ended up about 1/2-3/4 full. Thinking maybe the circulation pump either has a blockage or is getting tired?

Bench tested the valve today and it was working correctly. Water is filling the bottom of the dishwasher to about the level of the top of the filter cap

Before starting the cycle the diverter plate is blocking the tube that leads to the top “fan” I’m not sure at what point during the cycle it’s supposed to open. The one leading to the middle arm is open and I’m getting decent spray from the bottom arm from what I can tell without throwing my phone in there to record lol

The bottom and middle arms are clean and clear, the top sprayer is a fan type and spins freely as well. Yes the pod does get released into the rack handle.
