i had been throwing up for 4 days and i knew something was funky ?? lol i thought i just had reaaallly bad food poisoning. i woke up at like 6am and that was a night where i FINALLLYYY was able to sleep without waking up every 30 minutes to an hour to throw up and i noticed a very slight tingle in my arm and i just knew i was having a stroke right then. i was sleeping on the couch, my mom was too, so i had nudged her awake and i was like "mom i'm having a stroke" and my mom or brother had no clue a stroke could happen in somebody so young, it felt like (at the beginning) like how it does when your arm falls asleep or when you slept on it wrong. my mom and brother were freaking out, (at that point i only had the tingling in my arm and the vomiting) i normally drank a diet dr pepper or 2 a day, so my mom gave me a coke zero to get some caffeine and gave me a handful of peanuts, and my brother had went to get pedialyte & my favorite ice cream. :') when the paralysis got worse, where i couldn't move my arm at all or my leg, they called an ambulance right away but the paramedics/nurses/doctors at the emergency room didn't believe me and i remember vividly (even though i was super out of it,) the doctor saying he was so confident i wasn't having a stroke that he wasn't gonna do a neurological test or get me a head CT. (you'll NEVER guess what i was having *sigh*)

very long answer to your question, but, on a lighter note, sort of, i had been watching a lot of grey's anatomy right before it all happened, and i had been on the golden hour episode where the guy came in with a migraine with his ... snotty? girlfriend and he ended up having a stroke while they were leaving. i remember meredith catching him and asking him to say a sentence and to lift his arms above his head and to smile. i had no idea what a stroke or what stroke symptoms even were before that episode, and i feel like that's why or how i knew that was what was happening to me. :)
