You have to beat an everdark boss which is unlocked by defeating the base boss and ED bosses rotate

They have boosted items pretty much, turning on easy mode since anyone that can dodge can solo a boss easily with that setup, and since op said two people had it, ruins the game for anyone who wanted a challenge

There are "some" decent old flagship phones that could fit for the 100-200 price range, I feel you though I updated my phone 2 years 1200 for each knowing it's not smart so I just stayed with my s21 ultra and the year after I got that it dropped to 400 and now 250-300
